Speaker Wires help

Thread Starter
Hi Guys,

I have 16 awg speaker wires instaled in my home theater. Now I am concerned that the gauge is to small. However my wires have 4 conductors.
my question is, if I connect all the wires from the receiver to the speakers will this equal a 12 awg or better wire? BTW, My towers have 4 binding post (bi-wiring).

Thanks for your help!

How long are the wires going?

Generally speaking, you can get away with 16 AWG wire for most stuff...

Even though 16 gauge may be large enough I would leave the straps on the binding post and connect two wires to each side.
Of course you will need to make sure you keep the pairs and polarity correct.
