Thank you for your quick answer.

I have one question. Because my lcd tv is hd ready is it the best thing to use the samsung+onkyo(720p) mod?

Sure. You only have to look for video issues as explained in the OP (like not getting all refresh rates on CCC), but otherwise you'll be fine.

hi tulli, wonder if you can help with this?

5450 with ccc 10.2 to onkyo 875 to both JVC hd350 and samung 8 series LCD.

should i just use the EDID for the onkyo 905 listed with a (*) on post one?

One of the projector mods would be better, as LCD EDIDs usually don't perform well with projectors. Of course you can post your EDIDs for a custom mod.

Sound seems to work OK for me, but I get resolution/refresh rate issues almost every time i turn on the TV. Have to switch off and on again a few times to get it right.. If you could make an override it would be greatly appreciated.

No need of override for bitstreaming, obviously, so I didn't touch the Yamaha audio block. Curiously, both base blocks were the same, but that's not a problem as it will only affect the override denomination (it will show up as Philips FTV ...).

Well, with no information about your setup I can't say much!

Is the ATI or Realtek driver set to 5.1? Have you checked the HDMI cable? Is the Denon HDMI set to AMP? Which is your BD player? Are you getting no sound, PCM 2.0 or multi-channel on the DENON? Have you installed Haali Media Splitter? Are you using ffdshow? Which version? etc. etc. etc. ...

Hi!

I have:

Ati 5850 with Realtek HDMI driver R242
1.3 HDMI cable
TMT 1.70, MPC-CHC (latest beta) with ffdshow(latest ver)
Denon is in "AMP"

i can DD, DTS bitstreaming, but DTS-HD and TrueHD not.

Ok, let's focus on TMT3 .170, because it's simpler to troubleshoot. For ffdshow I simply use Albain's builds. There's an excellent guide to setup MPC-HC by dbone1026, which you might already know (otherwise look for the link in his sig.)

Now TMT3 .170 does not work with the Realtek driver, so uninstall it, install the native ATI HDMI audio driver and set it to 5.1 or 7.1. You should be able to bitstream now DTS HD without the override with TMT3. Install the override and test TrueHD.

You mean bitstreaming? If so a new mod won't help then, I'm afraid , so you will need to troubleshoot your setup. See my exchange with sutyi987 above. Also section 4 in the OP for your some troubleshooting. Otherwise list your full setup to maybe find out what's going on ...

The issue I am having is I don't have the 3rd option in PDVD9 for non-decoded pass-through of HD audio. This is what I have done and have working so far:

- Used the EDID mod (*) Samsung LN-S4095D - DENON AVR988 as I have a Denom amp and Sony rear projection TV
- Set up MPC-HC w/ Ffdshow to test
- I don't have any DTS-HD right now so I can't test that, but I have tested TrueHD and this works through MPC-HC w/ Ffdshow

If you already get TrueHD on MPC-HC then the override is working fine and the issue is exclusive to PDVD9. Could be HDCP related ... is your Sony RPTV HDCP compliant? Do you have AnyDVDHD installed?

Yes I do have AnyDVDHD installed.

Sorry I'm not sure I fully understand what HDCP is. How do I check if the TV is HDCP? In my ATI HDMI sound properties, it says HDCP is supported.

The Cyberlink BD Advisor will tell you but I don't know really, as you already get TrueHD ...

What is your version of PDVD9? Have you installed the latest patch?

Stupid question: are you trying to set the third option while playing back the BD?

YES! That's The way to set it! You only need to do it once...

If you have video issues with the RPTV and the override you're using just let me know and I'll do a custom mod with the EDIDs you already posted.

Finally got a 5450 card and so far as been great, got TMT and MPC-hc to bitstream the HD codecs and all is well on that regard.
Now, i started to get a weird problem that i think maybe related to EDID issue, hopefully you guys can give me some direction. Have 5450 connected to a Pioneer 1018 receiver and LG 47"-Epson 8100 projector, have a monoprice 4x2 HDMI to direct the video to either TV or PJ, this setup worked great with my previous card, but since i installed the 5450 i lost 24hz, in fact all i get listed is 60hz. my other card was also ATI and i just switch the cards, w7 picked up and that out i installed it, right after install i had all the options available, when i selected 24hz it never "sticked", always defaulted back to 60. Since i tried to force 24hz i now lost all options, only 60hz, doesn't matter what display i use. Both are capabke of 24hz, as both PS3 and HTPC used that setting before... so, EDID issue? what u guys think? meantime i should plug in old card and get the EDID info, just in case :-)

Well, try plugging the projector directly to the ATI and see if you get all refresh rates and also sticking to 24hz. Reconnect then back again through the Pioneer and, if you lose the refresh rates again then it's an EDID issue that should be solved by overriding the Pioneer EDID with the projector EDID video timings.

I was afraid you would suggest that Have to pull pc out equipment rack and try that, not easy to move wiring around. I'll post the findings.

Your mod. The modded EDID has the projector timings + the Pioneer audio block, so I don't know what will happen with the LG ...
