Post the Samsung real-time EDID (see 1st. post). Are you sure that you need an EDID override? What's the issue?
Hallo,
the Real time is 0 x 0031
My problem:
The Caralyst centre does not recognise(see) the monitor. Announcement(Message) is "Denon AVR1912 ". The Software TMT5 no TrueHD is economical.
The GraficCard does not recognise(see) the possibilities(opportunities) of the Samsung monitor.
Do you need(require) dspinfo.bin?

Thanks to for your help

The "Denon AVR1912" ID for the monitor is OK. For audio check if TrueHD and DTSHD are listed on the "Supported Formats" window of the AMD HDMI audio properties. If so bitstreaming of HD audio should work.

For an EDID override I need the full, 256-bytes native EDID of the Samsung TV, in whatever format.

I hope which is so right it. Please rename .txt in .inf

Greeting DeSam

It's a TMT setup issue (check the TMT5 thread here and on the Arcsoft forum for a possible solution). In any case it is not an EDID problem.
OK, many thanks for your help. I will check TMT5

Hello Tulli,

after struggeling a long time with our HTPC/AVR/TV combination we finally nailed
our old Philips 42PF5421 as the root of our problem not getting HD audio to work.

If the TV is disconnected from our Onkyo TX-NR809 all HD audio formats play just fine. But with the HDMI cable connected we get an error in XBMC/TMT5 etc.

We would like to ask if you could take a look at our
- Monitor Asset Manager Report for Philips 42PF5421
- Monitor Asset Manager Report for Onkyo TX-NR809

Maybe it is possible for you to create a custom EDID Override inf-file for us since the general Samsung LN-S4095D - ONKYO TX-NR906 doesn´t work.
It would be greatly appreciated.

Is the Onkyo set up to not passthrough the TV audio? Check the listed audio formats on the "Supported Formats" window for the HDMI audio device. If you only see 2 channel PCM when connected to the ONKYO->TV that's the issue.

Hi Tulli!

I have a Nvidia GeForce GT 555M connect with HDMI cable to Samsung UN60D6000SFXZC and this one connect with optic cable to Pionner Elite VSX-07TX and my problem is I cannot have 5.1 just 2.0 and I read on other forum the problem is the EDID because my other laptop work well with the same setup...

Can you help me with a custom EDID?

Sorry for my poor english...

Thank's!

Try the attached EDID override.

Then there's the "hack" of TV's EDIDs to enable multichannel passthrough.

They're good for enabling 3D over an HDMI1.3 AVR (if you don't mind losing HD audio).

And finally, EDID overrides help sometimes with handshaking.

I think that's most of it ...

Thanks for taking the time to explain that to me. I've been sorta outta the loop so to speak with HTPCs etc for at least three years plus. So I guess it's a great way to defeat 2 chan EDID read thus causing only 2 chan xmit into FPD? I guess this would matter if you're then passing audio back outta the TV via SP/DIF and want AC3 etc bitstream...

Why not just use TOS/link or SP/DIF outta the motherboard into the AVR then? I guess if you had it that way and also a modern "internet" TV you would have to swap audio inputs on the AVR in order to hear sound from PC or Internet TV/widget abilities or even ATSC. If looped into TV via HDMI and backout via TOS/link into AVR I guess you then don't have to change audio inputs on AVR for TVs internet functions or PC functions. Also I guess the TV then can act as an HDMI audio switch into the older SP/DIF only AVR...

Interesting...

and a VERY CLEVER work around!

Yes, definitely.

Here is a picture of this.
192kHz is missing and that´s needed for bitstreaming I think.
As soon as we unplug the TV´s HDMI-cable from the Onkyo AVR,
DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD work just fine, so we thought it has to be something to do with the TV-> AVR HDMI-Handshake.
What else could be the problem?

What's the resolution? It has to be standard HDTV for bitstreaming (1080i/p or 720p). If resolution is the problem then best solution is a split connection to the TV and the AVR.

We use 1280 x 720p so the resolution shouldn´t be the problem I think:

Our HTPC only has one onboard HDMI output. Could something like this:
1X2 PRO Series Powered HDMI® Splitter with 3D support (Rev. 2.0)
help settle our problem? Do you think it´s worth a try?

I'm stuck
My configuration is:
Sony Vaio CA (HD6470M) -> (hdmi) -> Samsung LE40B551 -> optical -> Logitech Z-5500
and I get only stereo sound
But if I connect PS3 instead of Vaio I get 5.1 sound.
Could You help me?

No need of the splitter with that resolution. Could it be an HDCP issue? Do you have or have you tried AnyDVDHD? What's your graphic adapter? (if it is an Intel IGP an EDID override won'y work).

Try the attached EDID override.

Our HTPC setup:
A6-3670K with Radeon HD 6530D
ASRock A75M-ITX FM1
AMD Catalyst 12.1 installed (as well as original drivers)

We use the Dolby TrueHD and DTS MA files from demo-world as well as our own bluray rips(Makemkv) for testing.
So HDCP shouldn´t be an issue, or am I mistaken here?

I see there is a 14 day trial version of AnyDVDHD. We will test playback with one of our blurays to see if it makes any difference.

We´re really greatful for your help. We thought one of your custom EDID files for our AVR/TV combination would solve our problem, but it seems it´s a bit more complicated.

Well, I rechecked the TV EDID and native resolution is 1280x768, i.e. not HDTV standard, as can be seen in the screen-capture:

Only solution is using split connections.

Dear all,

I have a Mac Mini (running Windows 7) connected to this Sony BDV-E985 HTIB via HDMI, and the Sony BDV-E985 is connected to the NX720 TV using HDMI as well.

I have sound, but when I do "configure speakers" on the Radeon HDMI Audio driver, it only detects two channels. The display properties detects as "SONY AVAMP". The sound is good, but I want it to detect all the speakers (5.1 channels).

Can this be fixed with an EDID override? I know the multichannel is possible because I did it with another Mac Mini running Win 7, but a Denon AVR.

Are any of the pre-made overrides suitable or will I need a custom one?

Thanks! This thread is dense and I'm still trying to understand everything.

2 channels PCM detection is correct for S/PDIF (see first post updates on the subject). You will only require an EDID override if DD and DTS are not listed as supported formats for the HDMI sound device.

Tulli,

Actually I applied the Sony AVAMP override I found here and it lets me see all the speakers now! Did a speaker test and it's perfect. However, when I reboot, it reverts to generic PnP monitor. How to get around that?

Thanks!
Actually never mind. Although it reverted to Generic PnP Monitor, my speaker settings have been retained. So everything is still working thanks!

That´s right. Sorry to have mislead you on this, I was so sure it stated 1280x720 but I was obviously wrong.
Again thank you very much for your help. We finally know what to do.

Hi, I wondered if you could help me out. I upgraded my htpc card to a radeon 6570. For some reason it's stopped bitstreaming audio after initially doing so. When I enter the TMT5 settings in Media Center the sound options are greyed out displayed in the picture below. Any solutions? Arcsoft tech support is clueless. Thanks for any input.
