If you wish to use 1280x800 set 2 separate connections to the proj. and AVR respectively, or use the mod attached with the base block of the PLED-W500 that you posted, and manually select 1280x720 when watching movies.

thanks i will tryit at home..

question, 3D 120hz mode only works on 1024x768 at this resolution will be HD audio?

Thanks.. tulli!

No, it has to be HDTV standard (1080p/i or 720p). Only solution there is using separate connections.

Or ATI DVI/HDMI to proj, for which you'll need a propietary ATI DVI/HDMI adapter.

Reinstalled windows seemed to do the trick (was about time anyways).
Thanks for the help .

I'll have to correct myself, no it didn't.

New file attached, see if you can sort it out?
And thanks a million for doing so .

edit: Its not the realtime edid on the yamaha tough, but the onlything i wish is that the graphic card always sent out the hdsounds.
Sometimes i get some weird ass bugg saying there is no support for compressed formats.

Well, the Yamaha EDID has only the base block again, and the Panasonic EDID has the Yamaha audio block so just use it to override the EDID.

Get an HDMI switcher (with remote of course).

For Nvidia see here. For ATI it's of course Eyefinity, for which I would recommend a 6770 minimum (or 5750). Maybe a lesser card would do but I'm not sure.

Please provide OS and graphic adapter & video player information. Do you get HD audio bitstreaming even when not being able to play 3D? Do you see all audio formats on the "Supported Formats" for the HDMI audio driver?

If the receiver ID is not shown as a monitor maybe a cleanup of registry leftovers can help, as explained in sec. 4 on 1st. post.

OS - windows 7 premieum
graphic adapter - ati 6550 on board video card
player - Powerdvd 11

when i go to sound - properties , i see channel 6 or 7 and all does bitsreaming format (dts-hd and etc...)
when i go to monitor properties, i see only PnP monitor...

Well, if the problem is not PDVD11, and if there is really an issue with how the AVR is repeating the EDID, an EDID override could help, but I can't be sure.

An easy way to test if PDVD is the problem is connecting the HTPC directly to the TV and see if 3D works regardless of switching or powering on/off.

If it works:

1) You could just use separate connections and be done wiith it.

2) Try an EDID override for which I'd need both real-time EDIDs.

If it doesn't work the problem is definitely with PDVD11.

Hi guys,
I am little new to this so please bear with me. I have a htpc with an nvidia card connected to a pioneer 940 hd via marantz 5006

htpc (nvidia + linux) [hdmi] -> marantz 5006 [hdmi] -> Pioneer 940 HD

I see horrible flickering (the text is pretty unreadable) when using the above config. But If I connect the htpc directly to the pioneer, everything is crystal clear.

So do I need an EDID override when connecting my htpc to my receiver?

The other issue I have is that when I have my htpc connected to my receiver, I get no sound over hdmi. How would I go about solving that?

Sorry if these are basic questions.

The EDID override capability is a Windows Vista/7 feature. If you can also override the EDID in Linux it won't hurt to try it. In Windows it only overrides the defalult monitor driver, so it's very easy to install/uninstall without affecting other functionalities of the the system.

Sorry Tulli for asking this stupid question.
Any override request for any HDMI 1.4 AVR with an AMD/ATI 6*** series card or Liano?

No problem, Rica. I guess, yes. Are you looking for one, specifically?

No, my friend.
I'm just investigating. I don't have any HDMI 1.4 AVR and I'm preparing a post for 3D HTPC thread. This is why I asked.
Do you think I can say "there is no EDID issues with 6*** series cards with HDMI 1.4 AVRs."?
Thanks.
Thanks for the reply.

I am close to getting audio working, but the screen looks blurry. That is the fonts are pretty much unreadable. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Problems should be exceptional, like a projector and an AVR that can't repeat the proj. EDID correctly. But in any case, the easiest solution would be separate connections. In sum, an EDID override shouldn't be required in almost all cases.
Thanks Tulli.
But seperate connections (for frame -packed 3D together with HD audio) are not suitable for 6*** series cards or Liano. We always need a second cheaper card (like 5450) for HD audio. (while 7*** series are OK.)

I'm using Windows8 preview and I'm having issues with using the EDID .inf file. When I try to swap drivers I get the "Cannot install unsigned drivers" error.

Is there a way to get a signed .inf file?

I'm using LG 42LE4500 and Onkyo 390 AV reciever. This probably works with the generic EDID files (using the LG 55LD520 - ONKYO TX-SR308 file) or do I need a custom EDID file?
Hey all...

Haven't read through the entire thread yet, but do you think this procedure would resolve the following issue?

New HTPC connected to Denon 1911 (and working perfectly fine on BD input).

However, when attention is on Sat/Cbl input (Bell 9242) connected via Component/Optical audio....and HTPC powers on or wakes up, this Sat/Cbl input starts dropping audio/video.

Thinking this could be a handshake issue between the Denon and HTPC that is causing the Denon to do this. (or the HDMI from the Denon to the TV to do this)

Everything goes through AVR and then to TV via one HDMI cable.
HDMI Control and Video Upconvert is off on AVR and I've also tried different HDMI cables and Inputs with no luck.

PC is an Asrock A75M-ITX board with an A6-3500 APU
. Using Xbmc on win8 cp.

Its not a huge issue, as I can turn off PC and all is fine. Would be nice to fix though.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Tulli !

Here is my real-time EDIDs for my LG 55LW5700. I have been using this INF "LG 60PK550LG+5.1AC3&DTS" to get 5.1 AC3 & DTS to work on my system. My problem is that I have to have to keep switching between inf files to get either the 3D capabilities of my TV or surround sound to work. I would like to have both in one inf file. Also is it a big deal that moninfo detects my screen size @ 7.2 inches instead 54.5?

Thanks!
