Very sorry to bother you as I'm not sure if you can even help with my situation.

My setup - AMD E350 based HTPC that has only 1xHDMI output, nothing else. I have it connected to a Samsung LN40A550. I have the Samsung connected via optical toslink to a set of Logitech Z5500 speakers. If you're not familiar with these, they come with a "receiver" of sorts that is capable of DD5.1/DTS, but has only optical or digital coax inputs. The audio pass through works fine with this setup using my PS3, both BluRay and games give me full surround.

In windows8 x64 CP (tried it after identical probs with windows 7 x64), I have the latest Catalyst 12.6 installed, yet AMD HDMI audio shows no supported encoded audio formats and I'm limited to 2ch PCH. Tried ffdshow to no success... and even so, goal is to use XBMC, which doesn't support ffd. I have tried a custom build of XBMC with extra bitstreaming options as well as stock.

I'm thinking one of your overrides might work by having the TV say to windows that yes, it can accept the 5.1 formats, but I'm running into driver signature enforcement issues when I try of of the *'d infs in OP.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

First i want to say, i triying 3 days and nights now to make an edid override file.
My brain going make some "pow pow" noises at this time and i don´t find a way out of this (i find so) tricky issue.

I got a Samsung UE55D8090 and a Yamaha RX-A 1010 between my EVGA GTX 670 and the TV
All Devices are plugged in series connection GTX 670 ---->HDMI in2--->HDMI out1 ---> Samsung TV.
TV sound via ARC.

The Problem is if i connect the AV Receiver to the GTX, the GPU High Def Audio say, theres a RX-A 1010 Connected. Everythings fine, I Can set DTS and Dolby and the Sound came out the SurroundSpeakers.
But if i Connect the TVtoo, to the AV Receivers HDMI out1,Nvidia HDMI Audio tell me there´s only a TV that supports Stereo.

I was wasting now Days and Hours, searching the whole www. to figure out making a EDID Override file.
Most sites are only in Englisch and sometimes i can´t translate exactly what the Forum members mean.

So here i load up my Files, and hope anyone can help me. if you have an paypal account i would making a little donate cause i´m so sick and tired now.
All i wonna do ist bring this mess to an End And play a short Game in Surround on the TV

Functionality for DTS Master Audio and Dolby True HD where a nice Thing, The RX-A Can play this Code but i think in the EDID File´s no word stands about this function

EDIT: For Sure i checked any options in Receiver like Pass through and Audio out set to AMP. Also I restartet all my Devices a few houndred times to making the Handshake.

I already tried that file that generized from moninfo. With this programm i extracted the 2 files too.

if i use the rxa1010 override file for the entire setup, (gtx670/RX-A 1010/UE55D8090)
I was able to choose multichannel pcm and my receiver receive this signal
but no dolby or dts or the better hd master audio or dts hd

With the samsung edid override file, i have the same functions as without it.

And you can believe me, i Read the Manual more than 20 times now, i temporaly deactivate Monitor Check at Advanced Setup.
Deactivate HDMI Control and manual choose Audio Output to "Amplifier" and deactivate Audi Output to HDMI out 1

Many times restarted all Devices to make a new Hardwarehandshake.

I´m so frustrated, invest a lot of Money in good Devices that was able to handle this new Formats (readable in the Manufactor Specs)
And Obviously the Devices can only handle Bandwith limited Opt./Coax. Interfaces for compressed DD/DTS or Shreddered Puls code modulated Crap.
I think i go to sleep a few nights over it, making my head clear and maybe with a new attempt i got success.

Finally got it working. For anyone else trying to get one of these overrides going in Windows 8, you must disable signature enforcement before it will allow you to click through ("install anyways") on the inf install.

To do so:
From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
Click ‘More PC Settings’.
Click ‘General’.
Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’.
Wait a bit.
Click ‘Troubleshoot’.
Click ‘Advanced Options’
Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’
Click Restart.
You'll eventually get the option to disable driver sig check. Install the inf, then reboot normally, the mod should stick.

Awesome! Followed this and installed the 'Samsung LN-S4095D - SONY STR-DA5300ES' driver to get my Toshiba Regza 32PB1E finally working with my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M installed on my AW M15x. Just mentioning it in case someone has the same problem with this TV and Googles for a solution.

Sorry to bother you but I was finally able to install my overrides on Windows 8 but even after that I still have no signal AC3 entering my amplifier (just pcm) ... You have a solution?

My file was working on windows 7 was the "Samsung UN40D6050 AC3 +5.1 +5.1 6 LPCM DTS" and I have a Samsung UN60D6000

Can someone help me with an inf for a Gateway Monitor, I've tried the generic ones, and I can get 1080p resolution, but not the native 1920x1200 60Hz of the monitor. Also, Iv'e never been able to get HDMI audio at the same time as video, regardless of resolution. I've extracted the .inf files by plugging them in independently via HDMI. My connections are Laptop HD5450 HDMI --> Sony STR-DG820 HDMI ---> Gateway Monitor (HDMI to DVI cable). After using the inf files, and trying to set the settings in Moninfo to HDMI instead of DVI it still appears as AMD HDMI Output "Not plugged In". Unless I disconnect the monitor from the receiver. Thanks a lot in advance, trying to modify the INF files manually has been very troublesome.

not even stereo? I would be fine with just digital audio and video through the HDMI. The problem is that my laptop only has one HDMI output, no extra DVI port.

I've lurked around for the past one week. I can't believe this issue finally brought me out of hiding. I have finally come to my wits end and I would seriously appreciate some help. My situation is probably similar to that of hwkok a few posts back. My 5.1 ONKYO AVR HTR-391 is hooked up to my ati HD 5850 as my sound while my Samsung t260HD monitor is hooked up to the second port as my main display. (So no pass through). Just two separate HDMI ports. While my AVR can bitstream dolby and dts just fine whenever I try to play anything with trueHD or dts-HD, it either switches to DTS on the receiver when I uncheck dts-HD on lav audio decoder settings or bitstreams with MPC Audio Decoder (low merit) with dts display on my avr.
I tried the Samsung 3DTV + ONKYO HT-R548.zip 1k .zip file link you gave to hwkok and besides getting my display scaled down from 1920x1200 it didn't work. My receiver is detected in the display settings as ht-r391 as a monitor while my Samsung is set as my primary display but on device manager I see 2 listings ; the samsung t260hd and the Generic PnP Monitor. My assumption is that the PnP Monitor listing is the driver used to recognize my AVR.

Sorry for the long post. I just wanted to be sure I have all the info out so that I am not leaving anything out. I have used moninfo and generated the two infs as required.

Sorry to bother you again.

Everything is working with the EDID you suggested for my Samsung LCD. However, the wife got me a new 3DTV Plasma Samsung (PN51D550) for my bday .

Don't know if I can/should use the same override with it, as now I've a plasma, while the old TV was LCD. Was considering trying the generic Samsung Plasma inf from 1st Post, but it's not for a 3D model. Should I try using the Panasonic 3D Plasma one despite having a Samsung model?

Basically, I'm not sure if I can break something if I experiment too much is all; could use some guidance.

Trying to get 3D to work by connecting my HD5770 videocard to my Harmon Kardon 7550HD and out to my Projector JVC RS45.
I cannot get it to work.
It works ONLY when I connect from the Videocard directly to the Projector.
Today I bought a HD7550 Videocard and to my surprise it still does not work!

Can you help?
