EDID Overrides to solve bitstreaming issues for ATI 5xxx's - Page 112

I installed it and now my rx-v667 shows up as a monitor but none of my other issues are fixed.
Maybe it would be better to open up a new topic for this, so tell me if this has nothing to do with EDID.
When I boot up my pc in 1080p@60hz, all is fine
The TW9000 reports to be working at 1080p@59.9997
Then when I open certain things (control panel, gmail, tweakers.net, context menu in explorer,...) the resolution somehow changes, the screen glitches and my projector will go (very briefly) into the not supported mode. It goes too fast to read but it says something like
- Not supported resolution: H:60,1777 V:161,875
The the screen goes blank until I ALT+F4 the running app.
It does not do this in 720p@60, 1080i@30 and 1080p@24
It also does this when bypassing the AVR
It does not do this when the applications are not full screen (I think)
It does not do this with XBMC (real fullscreen or windowed fullscreen)


My HDMI audio issue got worse btw. Now it will not send anymore sound to my speakers when the projector is off. Before it did this for 5ish minutes, then the 'not pluggin in thing happened' I based myself on this post to have this fix the issue

You should not need an override for an RX-V receiver with an Epson projector unless you want to default it to a specific resolution.

Here are some Yamaha receiver settings I posted for someone else. It was an RX-V863 but it should point you in the right direction with the 667:
Try those settings before applying an override.

Using this, Favelle got it working with his HTR-6xxx and and Epson 8100. And I have no issues with either of my Yammys and my Epson 8350.

Keeps breaking the audio even with the disable driver signature enforcement turned off?

1. install windows 8
2. Update Ati drivers
3. Install Monitor .inf file
4. red cross appears on speaker icon and breaks audio.
5.reboot and remains broken.

Any suggestions as I really like the look of windows 8, although it looks like it requires a lot of tweeks to work well with a htpc system.

Yeah was the latest windows 8 32bit from the AMD website. Strange thing was, I had to disable UAC as well as driver signature enforcement to make it stick. All good now, thank you kind sir.

When I test the DTS sound via the windows 7 x64 sound test, it sound great and the receiver identify it as DTS but I can't get DTS to work when playing a movie via xbmc\mpc-hm\vlc.
My PS3 can play DTS using the same connection scheme (PS3->TV->AVR) and the AVR identify it as DTS.
Dolby digital works great on all systems.

I have the EDID of the tv and it does state that only LPCM and AC-3 are supported.
I don't know how to get my AVR EDID as its an old reciver with no HDMI.

Anyway someone can help me add the DTS to my TV EDID? Philips-TV-42PFL9664H.zip 1k .zip file

The only possiblity is that the PS3 is presenting the DTS encapsulated in WAV/PCM. The VSX is able to detect the DTS framing in the PCM stream but the TV just thinks it's passing a regular 2 channel PCM stream.

You would need to use an audio decoder that will encapsulate DTS in WAV/PCM format. I can't think of any offhand that will do it. ffdshow might but I haven't used it in a long time.

AFAIK, no tv does.

I believe that you would need to limit the EDID to 2 channel PCM for it to work as well (or set Windows audio settings to be two channel output)

That's sound true, but I can't understand how the windows test in the audio settings can also send DTS signal. I don't believe it encapsulate it as WAV/PCM.

I have a ATI-6450 and a Onkyo TX-SR313 AV connected by HDMI and am in need of a fix please.

My problem is slightly different to most though from what I am reading, first of all with the Generic PnP Driver installed according to Windows Sound I have all supported formats, XBMC will only play normal DTS files with DTS-HD or TrueHD enabled, in Power DVD options they all show too UNTIL I play something then I lose DTS-HD but PCM and normal DTS remain, if I pause then DTS-HD returns until I play it.

This lead me to try various EDID fixes, a couple I created myself and a number posted on here with a variety of results, most don't change anything at all some break audio completely but one I found enables DTS-HD & TrueHD but only at 48Hz though 192 is listed in the EDID file and 192 PCM continues to work which confuses me, the file in question is "Samsung LE46B650 - ONKYO TX-NR509" and is on the first page.

I have exported my detected EDID from MONINFO too which I have attached below.

Ok 'problem' solved, one should never stay up for 28 hours trying to fix these issues as you end up missing things.

Came back to it this evening using that driver I 'said' partially works, which is just rubbish as it works fully, basically because the files I was testing with were 48KHz that is obviously all I was going to get when playing DTS-HD, I have downloaded some sample tracks at a few different rates and all work ok so my problem is solved.

Sorry I thought I updated my post, I have fixed the issue fully now, part of my problem was staying up until 5am trying to fix it I think because I got there at about 3am but didn't realize it...

Basically for my TV the driver for the "Samsung LE46B650 - ONKYO TX-NR509" works, but the one I created for my Amp doesn't frustratingly meaning that I have to manually select this driver, I tried editing it in MonInfo to relect my device name "Onkyo TX-SR313" but when installed it still showed the "TX-NR509".

Still far from the end of the world it's working that is what matters right!

If anyone can fix the naming problem or tell me what I am doing wrong when trying to edit it in MonInfo however that would be much appreciated.

1. Create a .BIN File of the Generic PnP Monitor or the working INF I have?
2. When you said the ID am I looking for the Friendly name of the device?
