EDID Overrides to solve bitstreaming issues for ATI 5xxx's - Page 121

Thanks for the heads up, but you know what's strange? I had 3D and bitstreaming working in Windows 7 Ultimate with no special drivers. I'm on 8 Pro now.

Of course, because the problem is due exclusively to Nvidia drivers.

hi guys, i've got a big problem..

i've used successfully edid override since two 2 ago, when i format my hdd for an upgrade.

Now, the same file that i previously use (lg monitor + denon receiver) doesn't work..

My system is the same, just use SSD instead HDD... last Catalyst installed for my Ati 5450, win 7 ultimate.

Some advice?

Thx

(sorry for my poor english)

No idea as it should just work. Are all audio formats listed for the HDMI audio device? Perhaps it's a DS filter problem. What video player are you using?
thx for replay smile.gif

yes, all forat are listed.

i'm using mpc-hc.. not problem at all with dts or dolby..

the problem is that my audio device isn't recognized if i don't start my amp first and then my htpc... and after short time (if i don't use pc) my audio device just dissaper :/..

with edid override i resolved this problem last time.. now it simple doesn't work....

Are you using the same AMD driver?
the last one, official release.... i didn't back up the old ones... maybe i can try with previous release?

Sure, should be a driver problem.
just try some previous drivers.. but it doesn't work....

little update..

try 11.4 driver version and disabled Denon passthrough (previously works fine but it doesn't matter)

Now, when I turn on my amp, i need to manually unplugged and re-plugg my hdmi cable in order to see "ATI HMDI OUTPUT" avaible...

Only if i turn on pc and amp together, my "ATI HMDI OUTPUT" is avaible from the beginning of session...

very frustrating ....

I'm trying to bitstream DTS-HD using AMD HD 6950 and ONKYO HT-R391 on LG LW6500 with no luck. My last resort is to try the EDID mod. Everything works ok (DTS/LPCM/AC3/etc) and the receiver was tested using a PS3 and a DTS-HD MA bluray and it is fine. Even using the latest catalyst 13.4 and ATI HDMI drivers or Realtek one.

Using Windows 8 pro.

Could you please help me ?

Setup:

TV LG LW6500
Receiver Onkyo HT-R391 (S3500 receiver)
AMD HD 6950
Windows 8 Pro
Catalyst 13.4

LG LW6500 + ONKYO HT-R391.zip 3k .zip file

Hi there.
OK, so I have the problem where no HD supported formats appear when I look at the properties for my AVR in Windows Playback Devices.
TV is Sony KDL-40W4000, AVR is Onkyo TX-NR515. Running Window 8 (so have to disable device driver signature verification to install overridden EDID drivers).
I've tried the MonInfo generated INF file for the AVR to no avail.
Have also tried a few of the generic options (and one specific Sony/Onkyo combo) from the EDID INF database.

Oddly enough, when I look at the EDID info for the Onkyo AVR in MonInfo, I see DTS-HD as a supported format:

Playback Device property info shows 8 channels and 192khz support.. but only DTD/DD - no DTS-HD:

Graphics is onboard Intel HD Graphics (the original one - H55 chipset, Core i3 530).

Attached are the realtime INF files from MonInfo (TV+AVR) just in case you think an override would fix this issue.

Thanks for any help at all!!

Cheers, Sony KDL-40W4000 and Onkyo TX-NR515.zip 3k .zip file

Unfortunately Intel graphic adapters don't accept EDID overrides. It's odd nevertheless that only Dolby Digital Plus is listed as supported. Normallly this is due to the sound driver or adapter not being capable of bitstreaming HD audio, only mutlichannel LPCM.

EDIT: googled and found that bitstreaming is possible indeed, so all audio formats should show up. Could be a driver installation issue. Is the MEI driver also installed?

Hiya - thanks for the quick response.

DTS-HD bitstreaming is indeed possible, I can do it via TMT5.

Intel MEI is indeed installed, and I have the latest drivers (v8.15.10.2858 - no updates available since 2010 I think).

The only reason I'm trying to fix this is that I want to use XBMC as my Bluray player - TMT5 ocassionally issues some distortion when bitstreaming on some titles (always in the same place on a given title) - I'm trying to see if XBMC does the same - but XBMC will only let me bitstream formats that appear in the Support Formats tab on the Playback device properties.

I suspect you're right and it's just that the Clarkdale IGP isn't accepting the EDID override.
So dang, I dunno.

Think I may try a re-install of everything and, if that fails, I'll try a new discrete graphics card.
Thanks anyway!!

Try the attached EDID override. It should work with your TV.

Double check the installation (see 1st. post). Make sure to reboot after install.

Do you have the latest AMD driver installed?

No idea. It looks like a driver issue, and don't see how the EDID override install might have caused it. Perhaps a clean driver install will fix it.

Does it work if the EDID override is uninstalled?
Yes,after i delete the override and install the "normal" it works good only with that problem that dont play the hd formats

Onboard audio is disabled? Frankly I have no clue, except that the EDID override is not specifically for your TV, but that shouldn't matter.

Anyhow, post the real-time of your TV if you like to try a proper EDID override.
Its ok,i will leave like this, anyway most of the movies i have its dts so its ok,anyway thanks a lot for your help.
