Yes, please! Very interested in this model and would love to see any and all pictures.

EX700 should be thicker than the Samsung B series. The thickest part of EX700 is around 6.5cm (the bottom part).

NX has a glass cover over the LCD. Glass is heavy. The EX is just semi-matte LCD.

The picture is Ok not great and the color isn't that great

Just saw the 60EX700, at the only Best Buy currently in my area to have it. The demo loop was running and combined with the settings they were using comparisons were useless. They had the contrast/brightness turned up too high. I will say I like the semi-matte screen compared to the mirror-like Samsung 52B750 that was close to it. Reflections were under control. The bezel was thinner than the ccfl-lit 60EX500 they had mounted underneath it. Much better looking asthetics than the LG 55LH90 I passed on due to it's big ass bezel. The gun-metal strip below the screen looks nice too, contrasting with the black gloss around the sides and top of the screen. I believe i read it only weighs 75 lbs. with the stand. So i like the weight, the styling, and the screen. Now we just need some more feedback from owners out there. Come on guys, let's hear it!

Yea I made sure to lift the TV up from one edge. Very light for the size. No the employees did not see me lifting it.

so if i have a mount rated for 50" plasma (about 90#), do you think it's safe to assume that it can support a 60" EX700?

They are only 60lbs for the 60". Very light without the pedestal.

As stated I am ordering the 40EX700 and will get it on the 15th. The width of my ET center is 40.5 inches and I believe the tv is just below 40 inches wide. Can anyone tell me do the speakers come out of the sides or the bottom of the tv? I am asking because I am worried about how the sound will work if trying to get around the tv fram in a very small gap. Thanks guys!!! Jon

Out of the bottom. There is nothing down the sides except for a few buttons.

I returned my EX700 last night and ordered the NX800. Out of 10 I give the EX700 a 5. It ok for someone on a budget but I couldn't see myself living with it so moving on. Good luck to all who decide to buy the EX700.

televisioninfo is one of the most unreliable reviewers around IMO. I have seen them completely screw the pooch in their methodology and outcomes in the past.

Very interesting. The measured contrast was 4182:1 which is a noticeable improvement vs last years models (if no auto-dimming occured)

Black levels measured well at .011, though not as low as the Samsung B8500 at .008. Viewing angle about on par with the LG LH90 and better than the Sammy. The review shows that the 2010 Sony blows the 2009 LG and Vizio led panels out of the water. Well, if these measurements are indeed accurate, i am glad i waited instead of buying an LH90 on clearance at Best Buy. Hopefully, Samsung and LG's led panels due out soon will show similar performance or better.

One thing that worries me is that they trashed the set's ability to handle 1080i input, calling it a "train wreck". That's what my satellite service provides. This makes no sense to me. Good sets can handle all types of input. They also said the EX700 handles 480 and 720 just fine, so what's up with this?

Ouch! I missed that comment the first time i read the review. Well, I have Comcast which is 1080i with most channels except Fox and a few others.

mfarris214, on a related note did you return your set because of issues receiving 1080i content via sat or cable?

I'm sure everyone has their own expectations but it sure looked nice to me.

That graininess you see isn't a fault of the TV....you can blame your cable provider. All of our cable/sat providers in Canada perform substantial amounts of compression on the source material before pumping out the signal. That compression shows up as artifacts like the grain you see or other fun things like macroblocking.

So this means that this Televisioninfo bunch is all wet when it comes to 1080i input? I'd really like to know before I buy.

I was a little surprised that they pushed the backlight all the way to max. My 55EX501 I have at 4. If I set it to 10 (max) it does not look as good. Most people who post their settings do not have the backlight set to max. Wondering why they did put to max. Does the EX700 really need it up that high?

One review doesn't seem plenty sufficient enough to rate the overall product.
Each set will perform differently to some extent.

I would wait for a another review or two before I took anything to heart. Televisioninfo....ahh
