The nuts and bolts:
I have small LCD capable of displaying 1280x800 natively. I connected it to my laptop, and the laptop was able to detect this display. I purchased this display specifically for it to be a field monitor for my Canon 7D camera. The 7d has a mini-HDMI port. My LCD panel has a DVI port, no HDMI. I connected it using a mini HDMI-HDMI cable, and a HDMI-DVI adapter on one end. I have been completely unsuccessful in seeing anything display. I know the problem is not with the camera HDMI port, or the HDMI cable. I was able to successfully connect it to a monitor with an HDMI port, and it displayed a crisp picture. So the question is, are there any signaling issues going on when you use a mini HDMI cable with a DVI adapter on the other end? I can't for the life of me figure this out. Please help a brother out.
