My guess is mike, you may be immune because you have the sharp panel, seeing as this one and the Sammy both use Samsung panels.
Guess I will learn to live with it, in real life conditions it is very hard to notice unless I really go looking after it. On the Samsung it took about 3 weeks to notice, but once noticed, it unfortunetly can't be unnoticed.
Seeing as I only have one very minor flashlight (much much fainter than both samsungs) I might as well keep this set. I bet if most people here did the panning of a dark GTA sky they would notice some uneven bars of some sort.
You see it in normal viewing on tv sources or bluray? Games arent the best because alot of times things like that can be seen as the game itself. Especially in skies where programmers cheat caause your not supposed to be looking there. Again especially on console games. where they run out of memory. Black ops for instance has not another bit of memory to spare. Which is why no guns are added in the expansions. They have to load all guns into memory. So cheating in places that erent stared at normaly suffer sometimes.
I would not use any one game as a barometer. Or any one movie or show either as it could be that one source. Now if its on many sources and you see it alot then you have to decide. It could very well be the screen of the sharp panel as you say though.
Remember this though. Even plasma has thier issue. some samsung and all lg models have worse blacks some panasonics will have worse black level after rising even thier best ones which aint cheap will be barely better. Pannys have floating black and flicker issues. Sammys have other issues buzzing and reliability. Nothing is perfect but only you can decide whats acceptable.
After going thru 6 sets since 04 I think Ive learned to just enjoy more and worry a little less. I dont care what the plasma fan boys tell you there are image quality issues with those sets too. Different issues, but nagging issues just the same. If your complaining of what im seeing in the pics im pretty sure your gonna find something that at first bothers you on every image.
Think of these issues of the sets as the first ding and scratch in a new car. It hurts at first and you see it everytime you look at the car but after a week its pretty much gone to you never to bother you again for the life of the car and in the end it never effected you overall happiness with the vehicle
