Jr.

I paid $199 for the N460 and it didn't last more than a week before I returned it.

Good luck with the S370. I have always been recluctant to be "one of the first" with newest players but that changed when the Oppo BDP80 was released based on how good the BDP83 was.

Any idea when these will be available in the stores or online? Don't want to order from sonystyle. I want the 470.

Any reason why you don't wanna order from Sony ? They also offer free shipping. Amazon had it for preorder but for some reason it's no longer there.

It's likely that other retailers will sell it for less then msrp within a week or so of being orderable.

Noticed that about amazon too, can't find it on their site.

I have enjoyed this player for almost a week now and I love it. It has been the best Blu-Ray player I've owned. Everything's perfect, speed, loading, PQ, AQ and no issues at all. With that being said, for $179 this player it's a steal.

Is there any way to change the thread title to include the S570 ?

I'm glad. Did you try playing any CDs with it? I'm curious on the sound quality and I know some folks would be interested in SACD playback as well.

You said you felt the PQ was better than the N460. Is your display calibrated?

I haven't play any CD's yet, and I don't own any SACD. But I will post the results once I play some CD's.....

They pulled them for some reason. They were there. Might check your local store because they were showing in stock near me before they pulled from the site.

Great! Tell us something about the DLNA capability, I can't find anybody using network video streaming (from a PC) with the new players.

The Best Buy in my area has stacks full of S360's and N460's. The average joe does not know Sony has released new models. So they are most likey trying to sell off these older models before they start selling the new ones....
I can't get any of my media servers to show up and the manual gives ZERO details about the DLNA capabilities.
I think the DLNA features are coming with a promised firmware update.

Bummer The official site doesn't mention the need for an upgrade for DLNA, just for the 3D and the USB disk.
So what are the online features with this player?
The 370 and 470 were in stock today at my local BB. Was tempted to pick up the 370 to play with.

The same as the 460: Netflix,Amazon and a bunch of useless web channels. Sony once again misleading customers, there is nothing on the website about firmware upgrade needed for DLNA. I didn't get my unit yet but already thinking about returning it. I really hate to be duped !

My S370 arrived today. I'll let you know if DLNA works for me later tonight.
So is there any reason why I should get the 460 over the 370?

I see no real difference between the 2. Both have the same online content and both pass the HD codecs.

Am I missing something?

Thanks, looking forward to your report. Let us know what media servers you're using.

Can someone who has one look at the audio settings? Mine only has the option of "Auto" and "PCM." I have it set to "Auto" and it sends all audio out as PCM instead of sending it to my receiver and letting it handle the audio. Kind of like how the original PS3 handles it. Decodes all audio in the player and sends out to receiver as PCM. I prefer it be sent to my receiver to handle.

You probably know this already, but the majority of receivers change the dsd to pcm before decoding, for example all of the onkyos do this, even if the player is sending dsd, so I don't know if there is any real difference.
