How can I fix this? Please the company in South Africa I bought it from are idiots!!
I have not taken it to the LG service centre as I have to send it 1600km for that.
Wondering if someone on this thread maybe could help me.
I've hacked my BD550 player but in the instructions i followed it only mentioned how to enable Netcast with the "apps" Youtube, Picasa and Accuweather.
I had to change some values in the config_file from the player.
It looked like this:
"IDX_PROTECTED_REGIONCODE" 0x00 (for region free) "IDX_PROTECTED_BDREGIONCODE" 0x01 (for area A) 0x02 (for area B) "IDX_OPTION_10" 0x05 (for AccuWeather/Picasa/Netcast) "IDX_OPTION_11" 0x03 (for youtube)
I am wondering if it is possible to change one of the others IDX_OPTIONs to get Netflix?
The version of the BD player is a european version and Netcast and all the other "apps" are not avaliable, but managed to get it to work by following the instructions.
The question is:
Does anybody know in which of the 32 idx_options, Netflix is? and what the values has to be changed to?
I thought that since Netflix is now avaliable in my country and I have an account, instead of watching on a pc or by the Wii I could add the "app" on the LG BD550 since it is already there.
I think the reason why they didn't added that option was because a lot off the apps on the american version of the bd550 was not avaliable in many european countries at that time when the BD550 was launched.
Hello all, I am a new member :)
The other day I turned on my LG BD570 and here is what happened. I saw the loading screen with 'LG' and the red dots, however once it finished loading it went to a black screen. I cannot get the Home screen to show where you can select Netflix, Pandora, etc. Even pressing Home on the remote does not work. When I insert a disc, the player indicates the disc is playing but still nothing is on the screen and there is no sound.
I am not sure this has anything to do with the problem but I will mention it anyways. I bypassed the option to update 3 times before this occurred. I was always eager to watch my movie rather than sit and wait for the update so I always chose to postpone the update. Could this maybe have caused something to go screwy?
Thanks for any help!
The machine had been working fine for 3 years, but only recently has it been unable to play Blu Ray discs (it plays regular DVDs just fine). When I put in a disc, it makes a louder-than-expected churning noise and the panel reads "error," the screen reads "check disk," and the disc is ejected. I had the most up-to-date firmware (BD.8.31.362.C) and then reverted back to what I understand to be the most stable version (the 323 firmware). The "servo version" is H 80604 (H08SAN). I have yet to find a solution. I have the BD Live set to "prohibited" as well. I have occasionally lucked out by just persisting in popping the disc back in and sometimes it just works (I've noticed that Red Box Blu Rays are a bit more readable than the ones from Netflix).
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
