Has anybody been able to compare the Sony 60EX700 to the Sharp Aquos LC60E77UN?

Folks,

I think right now a big problem for prospective new buyers of a new flat-screen LCD panel is the fact every manufacturer is in the process of transitioning to their 2010 models. As such, 2009 models are starting to rapidly disappear from stores, and who knows when will we see the full 2010 model line in the stores.

I believe the latest firmware update for the 8500 resolves the crop circles issue.

2010 models from sony and samsung and panasonic are already hitting the stores, only certain ones though.

it will take a few months for most of the new models to trickle into stores and some high end models you may not see until summer or later this year judging by what the companies have done in the past with high end models.

i haven't seen the sony ex700 in person, but i did see the sharp lc60e77un at a BB here in NYC. i have ta say i wasnt impressed. BB had in a blu ray movie playing and you could see the motion blur on it. ive been in the market myself for a new big screen. i have the big ol sony kp-46wt510 in my living room taking up alot of space and would like to replace it with a 60 inch tv. my concerns(and if anyone can help me sort them out) are motion blur and gaming lag. i play alot of call of duty mw2 on the 360 and watch blurays on my ps3 as well as stream movies on both from my pc. buy a Panasonic plasma it will solve those problems

the Sharp E77U is the only LCD TV i know of currently that has lag anywhere near what Panny Plasmas have

I am in a similar situation.....been reading all the info I can for the last month. I want a 60 inch TV, but can't decide which one to buy.
I don't play a lot of games, but I do watch sports so motion blur would really bug me.

I was set on the Panasonic 58V10 until I read about the rising black levels. That turned me off from panasonic.

I'm going to have to make a decision soon....can't keep looking forever, but I still don't know which way to go.

OK, I think I made my mind up but wanted to see what you guys thought as well.

Choices:

Samsung UN46B8500 - Top of the line, local dimming LED but only 46"

Samsung UN55B8000 - 240hz, edge lit LED, 55" of goodness

Sony KDL-52EX700 - 120hz, edge lit LED, internet ready to stream movies

Sony KDL-52NX800 - 240hz, wifi installed, edge lit LED, glossy monolith bezel

To replace my Grand Wega with the optical block issue, Sony has offered my the following:

KDL-55EX500 for $895

KDL-55HX701 for $1150

Which is the better choice at this point?

looking for an lcd around $200, around 22 inches... 2 main ones i was lookign at are an rca and a vizio here:walmart.com/ip/RCA-22-L22HD41/11331717 and walmart.com/ip/Vizio-22-LCD-TV/10884373. rca has better contrast, more inputs n outputs...surprising to me... but i hear mostly good thing about vizio, and seems ppl sya stay away form rca. will use for xbox 360 and watchign tv... man concern is xbox 360 pic quality

Less than $300
2. Seating distance
13x13 office going to replace my 19" TV
3. Size/placement limitations
23" LCD HD no smaller
4. Uses and sources
Needs HDMI speakers are not a need
5. Room lighting
Its an office with recessed lighting and fan with light

My main concern is picture quality for High End PC gaming, Xbox 360 gaming and Blu-Ray Movies. Can increase budget if needed for best product.

Finally decided...not at all what I thought I would end up with, but the deal was too good to turn down the family all agreed they liked the picture on this one best.

Samsung PN63B550.

So your saying the Sharp Aquos LC60E77UN is the superior lcd? Like ive said previously, i seen one in the BB here in NYC and it didnt look too great with motion blur and all that. I have it's bigger middle brother...the T240HD. Works quite well for me...my only real gripe is the viewing angles...it's definitely designed to be a PC Monitor as it's ideal viewing angle are basically directly in front of it. I would not recommend it as a TV if you plan on being at any other angle. Makes it difficult to see the picture at times. Other than that it's been a great Monitor/TV...will become my bedroom TV as soon as I can afford to get a new TV for the Living Room.

as far as input lag and gaming is concerned yeah Sharp model's are some of the fastest LCD's around even their LED models appear to be great performers according to tests done on European models so i would definitely recommend them for gaming

if you want to look into Panny plasma's go over to the plasma section and read up on them

there are quite a few things you should be aware of at least with 09 model's there is a problem with black levels rising over time to an extent. plus you need to take into consideration your room lighting conditions and most of all if you can deal with avoiding Image retention/burn in by not abusing the TV with excess static material or 4:3 pillar bars etc.

sounds like its a TN PC monitor with a tuner built in, should perform good for gaming

As of today, here are my two finalists for my next TV:

Samsung LN40C630
Sony KDL-40EX500

Any suggestions on which one should I choose?

(I'd almost consider the VIZIO M420NV but the manager at a local Costco store told me they won't be arriving for another two weeks. )

These 2 models are very similar, I personally would pick the Sony over the Sammy just because i trust Sony's name a bit more than Sammy but picture quality and features wise they should be very close to each other

why not go to a store and view both models and whichever one looks the best to you is the one for you

ya itll just be in my bedroom on my dresser or whatever, with me sitting liek 5 ft form it....it owuld be my TV and xbox 360 display... wont be my monitor... was also looking at http://www.buy.com/prod/samsung-2333...212357784.html

a little more than i was looking to spend, but can if needed, its 1080p too... also someone on xbox forums said they just bought the 22" vizio i was looking at and they love the picture....
