Can i use Bose 301's speakers for gaming??

So i am ordering a BIC America Venturi V1020 Subwoofer and the only bookshelf speaker i have on hand are the Bose 301s so i am going to have to use these until i can afford some M-audio AV40s.
These well basically be a temporary setup on my computer so the uses of the Bose 301 well be music/movies/games.. Well it work..

You can use them however you want, I would imagine. If you already own them, just hook them up.

My friend runs an AVR out of his computer. I don't know how but yes you can use all of that through the computer but you will need an AVR and the right hookup

Any speaker made is fine for game sounds. However, the Bose 301 is a passive (un-powered) speaker, so you will need an amplifier or A/V receiver in between the source (computer) and the speakers to drive them, as the output from a computer is line level (too quiet to drive a speaker). Worst case, check a second hand store for a temporary solution.

Its pretty simple. You just hook up all your speakers to your receiver...than hook up your receiver to your sound card....very simple. Just make sure you buy the correct cables. Got all my wires and cables at monoprice.

there ready hooked up but i have not used them for gaming little worried the sound effects ion the game well mess the speakers up.

No! You can't use Bose 301 speakers for gaming, it's against the law!

All speakers have to do is reproduce sound. They all do it the same way. Games don't have any sounds that a sci-fi or war movie has, anyway. Nothing to worry about unless you crank them to insane levels.
