Weird problem with my Optoma HD 20 , when the picture is all dark or black

if during a movie or if just the projector screen is showing a dark image, it seems like the right side of my projector displays black with a greenish tint to it, and the left bottom of the screen is showing a reddish tint to it

it doesnt bother me tremendously , but is there something wrong that I should be contacting optoma for them to try to fix it.

Throwing a post up in the Optoma HD20 thread will probably work a miracle.

That's a DLP projector so I wouldn't expect a problem with color uniformity as is possible with an LCD. The DLP creates an image that is B&W, the color is added with the color wheel. What could be happening, perhaps, is the sensor may be dusty and not allowing a positive lock or rather, perfect synchronization of the colors with the image.

If this is still under warranty, I wouldn't open it thereby voiding your warranty. If, however, the warranty has expired and you feel capable, then open the projector and use canned air GENTLY in the vicinity of the color wheel and the sensor. Take care NOT to direct air back towards the imaging chamber as you very likely could force dust inside, compounding your problems.

Is thier any guide to doing this? Where is the image chamber? My unit is having issues with posterization as well and I think it is just dirty.
