Yeah I've started focusing on SPs over PSPs since they seem to give out more gear. At this point, it's gear and ultra-rares I'm after.

I am having good luck with the Quarian Engineer. I get a 25XP bounty for every tagged enemy that anyone kills, and I tag all the time so I can tell where that guy's friends are. All I need to do is see their name and they are taggable even through walls. Smoke is not my friend, though. It's not PERFECT: a Phantom slows down but I've still had to use 3 grenades to take most of them out, and some got me first. It is nice to slow down the enemy we have to kill for the objective, though. A slow Nemesis is soon a dead Nemesis.

I keep apologizing to the team for the grenade spamming I'm doing. The darn things just wipe out entire groups so well, I'm always running out. Circle waits are annoying when I need to duck out for more and the announcer yells at me. Since it's my best killing power, I HAVE to get more. Grenade Capacity II means I carry 4 now, since one perk seemed better with extra electric damage than 1 extra grenade. If I make it up to 7 max with Capacity V, I'll be OK.

I do hope Silver goes as well as Bronze. Some Geth turret tricks were very important, and turrets don't require a trip to the ammo box...

Arc grenades are indeed awesome. Designation works quite well, especially tier 6 area designation.

Man, I am loving the Asari Justicar. New favorite class. I'm not sure how good it really is on paper, but it is fun as hell to reave a guy then drop a big offensive-warp bubble on him (preferably through cover) to detonate an explosion. Then reaving again for another explosion. I was able to hold off three Phantoms at once by myself on Gold this way.

Latest attempt at more gear from a SP brought Black Widow II instead. Not happy, just amused.

No Gold drops-ins since the server was patched. VERY happy about that...

So am I understanding this right: you can 'promote' a MP character which makes him a war asset is SP and that resets the MP class to 1st level? Does that do it for every version or just that race/class combo (i.e. if I promote my Human Vanguard, does my Krogran Vanguard also reset)?

There's an achievement for doing so, isn't there? Is there any MP bonus for doing so? I've finished the SP game, so that'd be the only reason I'd do it.
One promote should get you an Achievement, and ALL members of the class go back to Level 1. Along with that, it raises your N7 score in the MP game, which also goes up as you retrain the classes back to Level 20...

Ummm, as far as a 'bonus' goes, people who judge your skill by that N7 number are less likely to kick you from a game if it's neither too high nor too low compared to theirs...

Preliminary report on the Evil D-pad controller.

The D-pad buttons are very good. Pretty much the same pressure level as the YBAX ones. Not one misdirection in playing several ME3 MP games. "Evil sticks" that have rounded tops are OK so far. Ever so slightly tacky so your fingers don't slide, but I hear that kind of thing wears off. The different feel of not putting your thumbs over holes is fine, but the game I'm playing doesn't have any need to push them down so I can't say yet if that's going to annoy me later. Chat pad fit just fine, right up against the Down hole.

The Simpsons minigame requires more dexterity than I had the patience to develop tonight, but I did make it through Phase 1 which NEVER happened with the old D-pad. When it required that I hit two directions almost simultaneously, I choked. No instant fix for me but certainly a huge improvement.

Build quality on my controller isn't perfect. The right side isn't fully seated, so the seam can be felt in your palm. Just tightening the screws with the tool I ordered didn't help. Somebody else would probably return it, but I'm going to live with it. I may pull it apart and try seating the right side first, and see if the left screws up to show if their mold for the 4-hole top is the issue.

Unit cost: $69.99. Delivered cost: $81.96 with Priority Mail shipping. IMHO, certainly worth double the regular controller to avoid D-pad hassles. YMMV...

Each promoted Level 20 MP character also adds 50 EMS permanently to the single player. Also, if you have multiple Gamertag accounts sharing the same MP Galactic Readiness (using same email address on the EA account), every Gamertag also gets 50 EMS for each promoted MP character.

If you don't want to promote any Level 20 MP character for the achievement, just import a completed ME3 save game to start a new game.

Personally, I would save all your Level 20 MP characters for weekend challenge when the challenge is promote x number of characters. Bioware already done that challenge twice so far.

In Silver difficulty, I found the Ex-Cerberus Phoenix Human Adept works quite well. The trick is hide far away from the enemies and keep using Lash power to throw the enemies all over place. Weaker enemies will die immediately while tougher enemies attacks get disrupted. If the team has some close up fighters, this combinations work great because your partners just need to kill the disrupted enemies on the floor.

Firebase Hydra is great with Lash because you can hide high up in the tower and Lash can reach the enemies at the opposite side. Best is max out Lash power so that you can throw almost continuously.

The only drawback of Ex-Cerberus Phoenix Human Adept is he's not very tough if getting shot. So, you want to check our sides often in case an enemy sneaked by. Again use Lash to throw any close enemies off the tower or Smash if there are more than one enemies attacking you.

Victory Pack is at the store now. I completed several Silver missions with required character with full or partial extraction but no Commendation Pack in the store. Anyone having this problem? I received Commendation Pack before in the previous challenges which means my game profile setting works.

Update:
I think there's a problem with Commendation Pack not showing up. Several are asking the same questions but no response to the cause. I don't have enough right to post there.

Pretty good changes this week.

Some folks get them quick, some folks don't. I haven't looked lately to see if mine arrived.

I got the Valiant III from the Victory pack so I'm nervous about the 1-in-4 chance I'll go higher...

Rats. Crusader I...

Both reward packs are available now. If you have multiple Gamertags and all of them are linked to the same EA email address, all you need is one Gamertag to complete the Silver extraction. All other Gamertags also get both rewards packs. The Gamertag doesn't need to be Gold to do it.

I unlocked 10 reward packs with 5 Gamertags and only 4 types of N7 weapons got unlocked. N7 weapons unlocked for me are Eagle, Valiant, Hurricane and Crusader. From the Wiki, there are 5 N7 weapon types. The last one is Valkyrie which is part of the Collector's Edition weapon. Has anyone unlocked Valkyrie Assault Rifle in MP?

If you ask if there's any point of doing this, the more Gamertags, the more chances you have that may unlock one weapon or character that just wouldn't unlock on your primary Gamertag that plays ME3 MP. Since Microsoft keeps running $1/1 month Gold Live, it costs almost nothing for you to play with that one weapon or character in MP. Since every Gamertag shares the Galactic Readiness, you always keep the percentage up anyway.

Drawback for having multiple Gamertags is your N7 Rating since it's no shared among every Gamertag. Unlocked characters and weapons, and credits earned also don't get shared. Plus if you have maxed out every class on one Gamertag but saving them at Level 20 to promote when there's a promote challenge weekend, you can play with other Gamertag account and start leveling up your classes again.

Well my xbox died finally. It still runs but after about 10 minutes it totally locks up. I tried dusting it out and added 2 120 mm fans to blow across it. No luck. So I guess I'll be dropping money on a slim some time this week (wife permitting). Grrr.
I'm running on fumes with the MP game.

Can't play QME properly when even one other grenade user is in the game. Don't like the view Hunter Mode gives my GE anymore but the perks drag me into turning it on. I can play OK with some other characters but they aren't as kick-ass in my hands as the ones I just mentioned.

I do plan on playing enough games every night to get a Spectre pack, but the gear-getting results suck so bad it's pitiful. Uncommon stuff shows occasionally, rare doesn't. And Operations will be important to lighten the Valiant if I ever plan on using powers as often as I'd prefer.

It's just so sad that grenades aren't made somewhat less powerful then converted into REAL powers so I can just toss them as fast as the cooldown allows...
I'm burning out on the MP as well (burned out on the new horrible AVS forum format as well). I was hoping to get some grenade gear to have some fun with drell adept, but it seems gear drop rate is similar to ultra-rares for me. In fact, I've gotten more ultra rares than rare gear over the last couple weeks. In addition, it's getting harder and harder to find anyone to play gold besides white/geth/gold. I'll still do events when they pop up.
I used a respec card, so of course it was replaced in my latest Spectre pack, instead of any possible gear. The latest Geth Engineer character card was even more unwanted.

I went back to Gandalf the Turian Sentinel after a broken game left my Phoenix Vanguard alone to fend for himself. I don't understand how people can rely on powers like Biotic Charge that require some sort of specific view of an enemy before they work. I could see them, they weren't in cover, my power seemed ready, but I'd bang on the button and nothing would happen. Same for Smash, which I put back into play after several misadventures with only Lash and Biotic Charge. If the enemy isn't still targeted by the time I finish hitting the button, I might just as well have left Smash with no points. Couldn't even get the second device activated before I was overrun by Cerberus troops using smoke to thwart my powers.

Overload is at least OK with firing at enemies in cover, or through smoke, or even at an open area with no target. Sure it sometimes does no good, but at least it WORKS.

I'd still prefer to be working with the Quarian Male Engineer, but not with all the crap involving grenades...

I use my Phoenix Adept that has the same Lash and Smash powers for range attacks. It works best if your team has other players that go out to do closer attacks while the Phoenix stays away using Lash power to throw as many enemies all over the place. Even tougher enemies attack can get disrupted that makes it easier for your teammates to do the final kill. Any enemies that get too close to Phoenix, use Smash to take them out. Problem with Phoenix is he can't take too many damages. I'm not sure if I want to use Phoenix Vanguard for Charged attacked since you will be exposed too close to the enemies.

Overload is useful after you upgrade it. Upgrade it to shock the nearby enemies. When you see several enemies together, one Overload will stun several enemies.

Playing solo is tough in MP. Infiltrator helps since you can run away or close attack cloaked. I can only survive only 3-4 waves myself because timed wave doesn't give me enough time to slowly take out the enemies one at a time. High damage weapon is recommended. What I like to do to gain more XP (yes, selfish act) is create a new match and start it solo. Often by wave 2 or 3, someone will join the match but I still get first one or two waves XP all to myself. If not and I died, I only wasted my time on a few easier waves.

I like pulse grenades the most because I only need to throw it close by the enemies and still get most of them. There's a +1 max grenades infinite reuse attachment which gives you one extra. Since you usually don't get all the grenades your character can carry per ammo refill, it's best to not use up all the carried grenades. You are more likely be able to max up on the next ammo refill. On the map where the enemies often spawn at the beginning, throw one or two grenades immediately as they appear because that can take out all or most of the enemies. Grenades can be handy if you get swarmed with enemies around you. Drop one on the feet and it will take out most of the enemies and gives you time to escape.
Xp is shared. I don't get why people still think you only get the xp you get. Look at the end screen - your total xp is the sum of all players scores. So the person who joins a match in progress earns the same xp as the guys who have been playing. For example, last night I joined up with friends who failed the objective just as I entered into the match. Instant game over, but I walked away with 55,000 credits despite my 0 score. This also means that someone who "steals your kill" isn't stealing your xp - you are earning his xp. This is also why I don't mind people using missiles - less work I have to do, and I earn more xp at the missiler's expense.
Also phoenix vanguard is better than adept. Forget lash. Max biotic charge - range, synergy, barrier. Max smash - range, damage. Max fitness for health and shields. Max the 4th power focusing on power damage. Smash the crap out of everything. Stand in a corner and get people as they come around it. Smash hits through smoke. If shields go down, charge into the enemy to replenish shields and roll away immediately. It is still not the best map class/character, but I have had much more success with this than trying to combo lash and smash.

If anyone has an Android device, Mass Effect: Infiltrator is on sale for $0.99 at the Google Play store.

Great deal. Just picked it up for my Xoom not sure how it plays on a tablet but heard good things about this game. A bonus is that will increase galactic readiness/war assets for those that don't want to play Co-Op.

Technically, this weekend's Squad Goal: Extraction on any difficulty with the squad using a mix of krogan, vorcha, or batarian classes is the easiest unless you haven't unlocked any of the required species. The challenge really to encourage newer players to buy more PSP to unlock at least one of those species.

Does this mean I can solo bronze with a Krogan Vanguard? Hmm...

"Extraction on any difficulty with the squad using a mix of krogan, vorcha, or batarian classes"

It doesn't say partial extraction is okay. But Bronze is easy enough for everyone to survive through Wave 11. The difficulty is one of the team often forgets to return to the extraction point to have full extraction.

Let's have a team consisted of Vorcha only. Will be fun we all just melee the larger enemies like Brute or Banshee to death.

Krogan prayer-circle time!
Well the goal favors bronze anyway since gold consists of fewer trooper level enemies...
