I'm sure this question has been asked. If the weekend challenge requires Gold difficulty like this weekend and I joined into a session that already started. If I managed to stay alive through extraction in Level 11, does it still count towards the challenge?

The good side so far for this weekend's challenge for Gold difficulty is there are many online players. But many are lower level and we usually failed after a few levels. So far I only managed to extract from joining into ongoing game.

I certainly hope Gold drop-ins that extract get full credit. As I continue to fail to make it anywhere near extraction, dropping in late in Wave 10 might be my only hope.

I'm often the last survivor, but that doesn't help a whole lot...

Wow, I'm not alone. I usually join into ongoing game at level 2 or 3. It's tough when the you are at level 11 waiting to extract in the exit circle and 2 or 3 Banshees are attacking you within the circle. That was how I managed to survive the extraction last night. Just luck because half of my team went down.

After next week's MP new maps at Earth, does it mean ME3 MP maps is done? Funny was when I played the single player at Earth, I through the last checkpoint with two missile launchers look like designed for MP. And it is next week.

It will be interesting if Bioware will be going to single player DLCs only after next week. Like many said, since we already know the ending, how much do we care about another "missing" mission? The tricky part about single player DLC mission is when do they take place because not all your playable crew members are on Normandy all the time. What if you kill Ashley or Kaiden in the single player story. Does it mean the DLC mission cannot take place after that event? What about Javik? Not everyone has the Collector's Edition or bought his DLC. I would also guess the single player DLC cannot take place before ME3 because Shepard doesn't have the Normandy crew, and Normandy herself being upgraded at the dock.

Biggest issue: crowds of enemies blocking all routes away from my current location. At least three Banshee massages today, one when the guy got me up and the Banshee was right there. I watch the solo Gold YouTube videos, and wonder how many failed ones got erased because the running wasn't so easy.

So someone posts on BioWare that a team of adepts sails through Gold Reapers all the time. I guess those adepts are more adept at their adeptery than I was able to manage last time I tried...

One extract tactic is to go to the far side of the map and at about the 45 second mark sprint for the extract.

Ran into some guys playing Bronze who were willing to put in one more Gold Reaper game to help me out.

Asari Adept had been doing OK in Bronze, and she almost made it in Gold on Firebase Giant. Banshee magna-grabbed her as she was running to the extraction zone and she died, but the pros made it. I may keep using her since that Warp/Throw thing requires very few pit stops, although I'd really like the Stasis cooldown to be faster since all evening long I mostly had to make my own explosions and it'd be nice to be able to set one off on a boss that ignores Stasis.

Another lesson in using a mic while not being TOO annoying working out...

Played a bunch today. I figure I'll get new stuff I don't want starting Tuesday so I kept playing and buying PSPs to get what I already want.

Last PSP gave both Expert Package V for the Asari Adept and Grenade Capacity V for whatever grenade guy I end up using next. I may hold off on that until I get a LOT more Thermal packs stocked up, since Arc Grenades are kinda like Lay's potato chips: you can't throw just 30...

The Gold/Reaper challenge was a pain for me. I played another session from the beginning. But by Wave 11 for extraction, all of us died. I was like 2 steps from the extraction ring when the shuttle left. (I think I'll join the reapers and get personal on the shuttle pilot since he left me being 2 seconds late.)

Something Bioware could do that can be very useful for everyone. For special challenge like at least one player survived the extraction in Gold, indicate at the summary screen if the team met the goal than leaving us hanging. Even in single player, the player knows if the team met the goal of the mission because you see them back at the Normandy.

Good suggestion but no way to guarantee there would be unexpected many "big" enemies appear at the extraction ring. I was playing the Gold and at one point there was like 3 Banshees and 2 Brutes almost all together. Even at Wave 11, we had to run all over the place around the extraction ring as too many Banshees and Brutes appeared there. We simply didn't have enough powers to take them down very quickly. It's especially true if most of us aren't highly ranked.

Enemies spawn near you and move towards you. So if you wait until 45 seconds or so, all enemies are near you - not extraction. The key is that EVERYONE must do this. If you get a n00b to run to extraction immediately, the game's likely over.

A personal favorite tactic is to stand in the rear doorway of "the room" on FB White and get killed. Thanks to a glitch in the map, I reappear immediately at extraction, often times beating my friends who waited till the 45 second mark smile.gif

I do agree it would be nice to know that we completed the squad goal right away.

Some DLC Videos from Comic Con:

Sentinel/Rio map:

Fury/Vancouver map:

Slayer:

Shadow:

Demolisher (@6:00):

Destroyer:

There's also the 3 new weapons in those videos as well. The Demolisher video has some London map play in it too. If you look close you can also see some of the new 'perks' for armor/ammo/etc.

Odd look to the videos without enemy status over their heads.

Maps seem big enough to be able to run when needed, but the pizza deliveries might get cold.

Not enough Demolisher but I guess I'll have to hope for an early unlock...
Here's what I noticed in the Demolisher (engineer) video:

-The homing grenades are a 'power' not a consumable.
-Arc grenades are a consumable (obviously)
-The supply pylon looks to give out ammo/grenades at intervals which I would assume can be upgraded. It also looks destroyable.

Imagine an Demolisher, geth engineer with shield turret and an asari justicar with bubble. Quite the defensive position you could have.

I saw a nice cheesy tactic to get by the reapers on Gold this weekend. Apparently the back corner on Firebase Hyrdra is accessible but mobs can't get to you there. It can fit max of 2 people.
Its different than Firebase white, they can get to you but you have good cover, on the Firebase Hyrdra the mobs can't get to you at all.
Yeah though the banshees can still jizz on you.

Ha! Leave it to Zath to bring things down to his level!

Unlocked the Harrier today. It's OK. Stuff died fairly well for the Turian Sentinel once I respec'd him to lighten ARs. If it gets even lighter and adds capacity, it's certainly worth another try.

Also saw the Hurricane in action. Willing to try it myself if the Valiant doesn't come through...

Had a pretty cool mission over the weekend. We were on gold and one of the people on our team left part way through like the third mission. Well we all went down and no med gels so we were waiting for mission failure, but someone joined our mission which prevented us from failing, and he proceeded to finish the entire round without us, saving our buts and we got a full extraction on gold to boot. Pretty sweet!

DLC is up! Good luck!

Damm I want a demolisher so bad I can taste it.

The multiplayer for ME3 is really good. I just want to say that bioware really nailed it when they added on the multiplayer for ME3. I was playing the demo for diablo 3 and all I could think of was that this game play is so last generation. Eventually turned it off and went and played a few rounds of ME3 multiplayer to have some actual fun.

Have the expansions really changed the formula up or something? It felt like little more than a straightforward horde mode to me when it first launched.
They haven't changed it. But for Mass Effect's first attempt at multiplayer, I agree it's a smashing success.

All the DLC packs add characters, powers, weapons, weapon mods, equipment, gear, and maps. The core mechanics are still very similar to release, though many powers and weapons have been tweaked, mostly for the better.

Wife and I should be on tonight. So far after spending about 500,000 credits, I unlocked the new sentinel, a ton of gun mods for the SMG (lolz - armor penetration and stability), a few new gear options, and both of the rare guns.
Discovered that the SMG High-Velocity Barrel I kinda works on the Geth SMG, but the armor in the back on a Bronze Atlas wasn't being affected much and the health bar just blinked. From the front, worked just fine.

The barrel mods can't both be added at once, so for now it's heat sync V and penetration I. I hope it upgrades quickly...

Dropped into a Platinum game on White. The Geth waves played like farming ones. Wave 6, we delivered the pizzas but the phenom who lasted the longest ran out of gels. 64K credits for 5-1/2 waves wasn't bad at all...
Geth/gold/white is still farmable on platinum, unfortunately. Team needs to be decent, but it isn't bad since nothing spawns behind you and banshees get stuck. I got all characters, maxed the rare weapons, got the new ultra-rare, and some gear. Haven't played with everything yet. The demolisher was pretty fun, but I wasn't too fond of the homing missiles.

Three PSPs, and I have the Piranha III and the Acolyte I. That Piranha is really a fighter, muscling its way (unwanted) into every PSP so far. No new characters yet, but that Asari Adept still works nice.

The Commendation packs are due Wednesday, so fingers are crossed for something I *want*...

I only unlocked one of the new Infiltrator N7 human. She has two different types of grenades and able to install a weapon refiller station. I really like the grenade that will chase after the enemies. But this Infiltrator type, she has no cloaking ability. I was funny to hear my co-op players kept running pass my weapon refiller station and making comments about it.

Big question is Bioware done with free DLC?

Its substantially deeper than I first gave it credit for.

Had saved up over a million credits. Only unlocked the shadow (vanguard), the acolyte, and the piranha. Damn the stupid RNG.

The shadow is decent once I figured out how to play it. Its not a typical vanguard playstyle for sure.

That's the engineer, not the infiltrator.
