By breakdown I meant what solo mastery challenges did you complete. I should have just looked at the list, then I would have figured it out myself. It's amazing that you've done everything. It's also amazing how many people I see playing that are around your level.

I'll send you a friends invite. Unfortunately my hours are pretty wacky (usually gaming from 10:30-1am PST), and the random times on the weekend. A friend of mine just picked this up and he's getting his feet wet, it might be fun to have the three of us play together so he can learn some tips from a pro like yourself.

I did 2 gold 3 silver and 5 bronze

golds count for silver and bronze and silvers count for bronze so that is the least you have to do without soloing plat, which I don't want to even try

I don't think I've ever played a platinum game. I typically do silver or gold on MP, depending on the level of the character I'm using. I avoid bronze because it seems to turn into a bunch of lone wolfs, and there is always some level 2500+ person in there with a level 20 character just wiping away the enemies. The reward is so low (xp & credits), that it seems a waste of time to play it.

Well, my first run at silver seemed pretty straight forward, but the second and third shot I gave last night both ended before I got to Wave 10! I think I need to stop trying to melee everyone and focus on using the reegar.

I've been doing more plat lately and have run into some decent pug groups. Making 140k credits for clearing plat puts a smile on my face. Usually I'll roll gold or mess around in silver if I want to test builds/weapon combos.

Operation BALLISTIC (Jan 25th-27th)

Event Description: Recon has new estimates on the number of Reaper creatures, and the news is dire. Each of you must inflict as many casualties as possible, and we must destroy husk-creation mechanisms like Dragon’s Teeth. If we fail to accomplish this, we will be even more outnumbered in the coming days.

Individual Goal: Earn any gold weapon medal (Assault Rifle/Heavy Pistol/Shotgun/Sniper Rifle/Submachine Gun).

Reward: Commendation Pack

Does anyone understand what the Individual Goal said? Is it mean use a gold capable weapon during any mission? If so, how many kills are needed to reach the goal?

Curious, why 75 kills? I assume the goal also requires to use a Gold weapon?

Update:
I completed all the waves using a Gold SMG but at the end of going back to the menu, it got stuck at waiting forever (which occurs quite often on PS3 version). After I quit to the menu, I got 0% complete in the challenge. Am I even doing the challenge right, pick a gold weapon, do standard shooting until I won the waves?

Get 75 kills in one game with a weapon. You get a gold medal in the match for doing it. I soloed a silver to do it quick.

Just picked up ME3, anyone have suggestions for what packs to purchase when first starting out in multiplayer? Just save for the more expensive ones, or will I need more basic loadouts first?

It's nice to max out common and uncommon from recruit and vet packs early. But I'd still mix a psp in here or there.

You also might want to pick up a couple of Jumbo equipment packs so you are not constantly running out of revives or health packs.

you'll get those in recruit packs too and with only being able to carry a couple of each type you won't run out too fast

Patch out today that is supposed to get rid of missile glitchers.

"So, I just got my paws on the patch 1.05.
Stuff found so far:

- Assault rifle, shotgun and sniper rifle ultra light materials (probably primarily for multiplayer).

Sounds awesome. "Rekindle romances" eh? Interesting.

I just downloaded the Omega DLC last night but can't see a way to get it to start. I looked online and it states the trigger is in the docking bay - but nothing happens when I go there. Any tips from anyone who's played the DLC?

What if my Urdnot Wrex been dead since ME1? Replace him with his useless brother? I assume this DLC is another "cutting floor" chapter that was originally removed from ME3? Shepard's journey is over, time to move to the next hero except by the time ME4 comes out, it could be on the next gen console.

At least with ME2 the DLC episodes felt like they were actual additional content - like they were thought up and implemented after they finished the game. I haven't acquired any of the ME3 DLC except for the extended cut (still haven't tried it, was holding out for an indoctrination DLC, ah well) because it all seems like stuff that should have been in the game from the get go. They rushed the game terribly and then want us to pay for missing content in addition to the game.

Reckoning MP DLC hit on Friday, the challenge this weekend is to extract with any of the new reckoning characters.

I've only unlocked two characters so far, but they're fun (Geth Juggernaut, Collector). When you DL the DLC, it gives you an immediate reward which appears to be one of the characters. The Geth Juggernaut is a blast and feels a bit overpowered, but both seem like they could have been in the MP from day one, very natural fits.

I've got all the reckoning rares maxed and only unlocked one of the new ultra rare guns (spitfire). Spitfire needs a big buff to be worth using.

Haven't tried the vanguard yet but most of the new kits are pretty neat.

I had 5.1 million saved up before the dlc came out so I could get it all launch day.

Citadel dlc out tomorrow, final single player dlc. 1200 msp 4 gb needed for download (will take two files since xbox has a 2gb limit on dlc size)

Haters get out your pitchforks one more time to complain about ME3 before they announce ME4.

I'm stoked it looks like a great sendoff.

I also think so. Even if ME3 story DLCs were developed as part of the main story, they could have been dropped early on during development because the story didn't quite fit in. That happens all the time in story games and movies. Just because gamers are hungry for another "chapter" to have something to play, that doesn't quality to all the erased chapter as DLC. In movies, that is often called "deleted scenes" but in games, that is often called paid DLC.

What about if the main story contents get removed? My huge concern is next gen consoles. To still sell a retail game at $60 clearly means one thing, more contents from the game will be removed from disc worse than current gen. Profit has to make somewhere. Remember, all the publishers need say is $60 gives you the game on the disc, but nothing about the contents from the main game removed to be sold as DLCs later. They can even said the extra DLC chapters haven't been developed. More excuse for the developers to have more time to develop the missing parts of the game. If the game is story driven, it will be like "abridged version" that only includes the condensed parts of the full story/game. The rest of the "unabridged version" contents will be sold as DLC if you really want to enjoy the full story/contents of the game. Technically, the publishers will argue that retail/"abridged version" is a "complete" game. If the game doesn't sell well enough in the market, they don't need to continue developing the missing parts of the story in DLC and reduced the total development cost on the retail version.

If ME4 is to come out on the next gen console, just use your imagination what EA/Bioware has to do to remove as much contents off the disc for only $60. The rest of the missing contents later come on the other "$60" DLCs.

(I recently read releasing many games as playable demo have resulted to lower the sales of the retail version. You wonder why. So, the publishers now think of not releasing demo for "many" of their games. And you can suggest what games that will not have a demo, the ones that are "many" because if the publishers already project the game isn't up to the quality, don't let the gamers demo it. At least that helps to sell more copies if they market it well.)

While the main game comes on two DVD discs on X360, why do the story DLC files being so huge? Seriously, a 4GB story DLC for one little story should be small download. There are many full games that only on 4GB. If you think of it, when the game has to be released on one or two DVD discs, they have to optimize the data to make them fit because of higher cost. When it's released as DLC, there is no real size limit. Even X360 has 2GB limit per download DLC, they simply make you download the DLC on two 2GB files. I understand optimizing the game to be small is time and cost consuming but there is no reason to get lazy. I guess another ME3 DLC that I'm skipping.

Note: Why does Shepard need the entire crew from ME2 and ME3 to do one mission while Shepard was able to do it for the final ME3 battle mission?

Since this DLC expands Shepard living quarter, is it still accessible in the main ME3 story, ie. on the disc? Or think of the large quarter as one time usage, ie. costs of the DLC and the extra hard drive space needed by the DLC. And lets not forget the cost disc space to add Miranda's new red outfit.

Why if I killed almost entire crew off the end of ME2? Does this DLC just bring back your dead ME2 crew or does it make the DLC plays shorter as it has to remove the dead ME2 crew storylines?

Video looks great, I'll be sad when I'm done with all the DLC, since that means I'll need to finally finish the game (which I've been slowly avoiding via DLC and MP). smile.gif
