I agree.

As dangerous as Quarles is, he appears to be in deep, deep trouble.

I still have no idea how either the Limehouse thread or the one involving the visiting Detroit hit men will play out but they have been fun so far. The casting of Michael Ironside as the senior Detroit gun thug and Alan Arkin as his boss was inspired. Those guys are wonderful. I hope we see them again in both of the season's last two episodes.

I agree the bartender who is Raylan's new squeeze, or maybe he is her Squeeze, is terrific. Adding her to the likes of Ava and Winona proves again that Justified'a array of southern honeys is unrivaled.

He wasted no time casually dropping the hit man this week and wasn't particularly concerned about negotiating. A very Raylan move.

Great posts...thanx for the excellent analysis.

Art to Raylan: "Just don't be any more reckless than normal"

Also we have confirmation after last night that Quarles does indeed pack his hidden pistol on his left arm.

How many episodes left in the season - I don't expect all the story lines to be resolved, but I would be very surprised if Quarles makes it to next season.

He wasn't a "tough guy" on either show. He is a crime "boss". Big difference.

There are two episodes of Justified remaining. They are scheduled to premiere on April 3 and 10.

And a sad day it will be when the last ep airs on 4/10. This is, by far, the best show on TV right now IMO.

I would agree if Mad Men hadn't come back this week but I know what you mean. Like Mad Men, Justified's writers somehow manage to maintain writing of the highest order and give us great shows week after week. Simply amazing!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that Adam Arkin has directed quite a few episodes of Justified now. So at least he has an understanding of the tone of the show.

My son wrote an episode Arkin directed and said he's great to work with--because he's an actor himself, he really knows how to get the best from them. With a show like Justified that's so collaborative, it really helps when the director is willing to give the actors some leeway. Or course, being on a seven day shooting schedule, he's got to be able to keep things moving...

That would be "Reckoning" I think? The one where Raylan drags Dickie into the woods to execute him?

Seems to me everyone really enjoyed that episode, so I think Arkin knows how the show fits together and the part the characters play. I really like him as an actor so I'm looking forward to him being a bigger piece of the ensemble next year. I don't think he'll be out of place at all.

Assuming of course he doesn't meet the fate that usually greets a new arrival in town.

Indeed, things have gone uniformly badly for all of the recent arrivals from Detroit.

That's correct.

This show consistently delivers. The End of Quarles?

Maybe?

For some reason my Dish DVR didn't pickup this weeks episode. There are no more repeats. I can view this via Netflix if I want to subscribe to streaming, but I'd rather not. The only other options are pay sites. FX On Demand doesnt' carry all of S3 for some reason. Anyone know of any alternatives?

That totally sucks...are you sure it doesn't repeat?
IIRC, it does on DirecTV....

It's repeated next Wednesday. Just wait until then and watch both episodes together.

Yeah it sucks. I had it recording the EC feed at 7PM...there's never been any conflicts so I never check. When I started looking for it about 10:30PM, I didn't see it. So I grabbed the last 15 minutes at the 10PM slot. I did an immediate search and didn't find it. If it repeats next Weds. I'm fine. Otherwise, not so much. My daughter has been staying with us for about a month and started adding shows and changing priorities. She left this week. It's a good thing or she might be dead if she's responsible .

LOL, kids...what can you say?

I learned the hard way when I got my DVR.
STUUPID ME didn't read the instructions (I am philosophically opposed to do so for any electronic box of mine) and went thru a period of Crying, Denying, and Rage Against The Machine.
Fortunately, my wife took over the DVRing and we haven't had a problem since....

I just checked for Justified's upcoming episodes via Cox OKC on my TiVo and discovered that there are no upcoming repeats of the Measures episode. There will be repeats following the first run showings of this season's last two shows, Coalition and Slaughterhouse, but that looks like it. It might be different via DirecTV but I doubt it.

Yeah, it's always New_New_Last week's here. Next Tues. Measures is 2 hours after that night's original.
Ok, I'm hopeful. I've got the rig shut down now, but I'll check in the morning.

After the recent posts here I checked a different upcoming episodes list for Justified on my TiVo. If my TiVo's list is right, Measures will be shown once more, at 11:00 pm CDT on Tuesday April 3. Sorry for having created confusion earlier. Obviously, the rerun will be shown on FXHD.

This season is on Netflix? I don't see any reference to it at all...
The show is repeated often on FX and there are options on the internet.

A site called yidio streams thru nextflix. I don't think nf has the rights. They also offer different paying options. Could be bogus I suppose. I googled it.

Since I don't have cable I purchased this season through Itunes. This is the only show that I will do that for. Other shows of interest I buy on BD and I have the first two seasons of Justified on BD.
