Yes you can, and you did. May I add, though, that a guy who would say this about himself is simply bragging, as most men wouldn't be able to approach a blender's blades no matter how 'hard' they tried.

I think there may be one more Spenser book coming out that he had completed before his death. Michael Connelly is great, Robert Crais has really come along in the last several years. Dennis Lehane is somebody you should read for great characters that are neither all good or all bad. He's best known for Mystic River and now Shutter Island but the series that Features Pat Kenzie is my favorite work of his. They made the movie Gone Baby Gone a few years ago based on the novel from this series. Not a bad movie but did not capture the feel of the book at all. There are a ton of other authors I love as well. Not the place to talk about them here I guess.

Anyway, Justified is a watchable show. Hopefully it will grow into something great. I will continue to watch either way.

I have read everything that Crais and Lehane have wriiten. I agree that they are both terrific. By the way, I loved the Gone Baby Gone film, with Casey Affleck as Patrick Kenzie. It wasn't as good as Mystic River but I thought it did an excellent job of capturing Lehane's South Boston angst.

Loved this week's episode. The murderous black widow and her credulous lover were perfect.

Actually, I quite liked this episode as well.

Another good episode. This show is a refreshing change from the CSI factory.

Is this the first episode that Raylan didn't slap leather?

Heard an interesting tidbit; Graham Yost, series creator and writer of the last episode, had wanted to do something with the Hitler's paintings idea since "Boomtown". He just hadn't figured out a way to work it into a show until now.

Fine episode tonight.

These are well crafted. I especially enjoyed the scene where the hitman's career ended rather abruptly

Did anyone else recognize the hit man as the preacher from Deadwood?

Not me but Boyd's dad being Mr. Friendly was a nice surprise.

Yup, but it took me two secenes. When he was in the car, I didn't have a clue.

And from the previews, we'll have another Deadwood alum guesting next week. Which is more than fine by me.

I immediately recognized the hitman as the guy who had played Reverend H.W. Smith in Deadwood. The actor's name is Ray McKinnon. He was also in The Blind Side.

foxeng -- That is good news, indeed, thanks for the heads up. Justified has become one of my favorite shows so I was delighted to learn that it has been renewed.

Great episode tonight. Fried chicken! haha

Another great "Deadwood" episode. You know they could do that just about every week as far as I'm concerned.

Get a little Deadwood closure one actor at a time.

Plus, the urge I've had today for some great fried chicken is scary.

Really liked this episode and love the news of Walt Goggins becoming a series regular!
During one of the recent LOST podcasts, the EP's Lindelof and Cuse were asked what they're currently watching on TV. Both mentioned 'Justified'. I would have expected them to say 'Damages', 'Breaking Bad', 'Mad Men', or another pure serialized high-caliber drama like what they do. That's a pretty good endorsement considering what those guys have just finished accomplishing in the TV world.

Really enjoyed the last episode. They are developing the characters very well. The Crowders are going to be a problem, but Raylen seems to tackle issues head on. It will be interesting.

Well, that was the general thought from the premiere episode… until he got blown away.

Agree, this show has found its groove. The last few weeks were fine establishing all of the characters with their nuances-- and good stories too.

I think it’s the best thing on television right now.

Funny thing is, considering the Elmore style- with those surprising killings in all of the previous episodes, it was just as surprising that no one was killed in this last episode. Great use of restraint.

Maybe they just ran out of squibs.
