Have you figured out a good way to use this thing? What an awful example of thoughtless design. It doesn't mount directly to their sets, and it blocks the IR sensor in the front of the TV if you place it on a stand in front of the set. The only practical way I can see to use it is to put my set up on the wall and take the stand off it, and leave the soundbar on the cabinet, which I really don't want to do.
Even with the Viera link enabled and connected through the HDMI cable, Panasonic forgot to relay the IR receiver in the soundbar back into the TV so that you could still use the TV remote if the TV's IR sensor was blocked. As it is, Viera link controls the soundbar power and volume from the TV remote, so why it doesn't work the other way is a mystery. I still don't know how I'm going to install the sound bar in a practical way with my setup. Right now it's sitting on the floor blocking the glass doors on my cabinet.
A better use of the technology would have been to provide a port in the back of their TVs for the wireless subwoofer transmitter, and just use that with the TV. The soundbar itself is really not much better quality than the speakers in the TV, at least on my larger size set. It's the subwoofer in the package that makes the difference.
