Is this still an issue for G25 sets? Should I have updated by other means? I tried an SD card with the file from the Panasonic support site, but got the "0004" error that the file wasn't correct. I tried swapping around cables and confirming that everything works if directly connected to the TV, but no luck with the actual receiver.
My apologies for the new post on this old topic, but this thread is massive! I'm having trouble finding newer posts on the topic for individuals that had the issue post-update.
Not sure if this helps, but I have a Onkyo 607 and a Panasonic TH-46pz850u 46" 1080p Plasma. The 850 is G11 and is a 2008-2009 model. I remember hearing something about HDMI problems between Onkyo and Panasonic back in 2009 before I bought mine. It was my understanding that Panasonic released a firmware update for mine, and the newer 2009 models. I thought it was ancient history.
I can say I have never had any HDMI problems with my setup. This is what I do ... you might want to do this stuff on yours and see if it helps.
HDMI-CEC is current disabled in Onkyo and 850.
I have to 607 set to not convert or upscale anything
All my HDMI cables are 10ft 28awg from MonoPrice.com
Both the 850 and the 607 are set to use the Amp speakers always.
On the Harmony, the 607 is the first device to be switched on.
