Yeah, I may email just to check. And I dumbly didn't get the free version of TiVo desktop or w/e it was called. I didn't even think about the fact that it could really be useful with me so close to full, too!!! There are a lot of shows I can delete, though, such as one tv series I have around 200 episodes of! But now I will forget which episodes were funny. I should have deleted the less funny ones at the time, but was thinking of keeping them all and now think that's a bad idea.
Whatever it's doing is mighty weird though. For one thing, SOME shows from tvland still recorded on the same day that the others were marked not to. Also I just set it to record some SD shows which are on in a week or two and when I set it to record one 30 minute one it forced me to cancel a 1 hour HD one and then another 30 minute SD one forced me AGAIN to delete a 1 hour HD one. wtf? Both of those easily would have fit in the space it was considering ok for the 1 hour hd one. This TiVo has had so many odd annoyances like this. I have a feeling older ones used to work better, as well as they were always rated. Other than being larger capacity-wise, I would say the xl4 is wayyyyyy worse than the directv one I had used last year. (the hr 24 I think. not the directv TiVo one). Functionality-wise, it was so much better and had most, if not all, of the same features such as season passes and whatnot.
I may actually go back to directv at some point and still watch recordings from the xl4, since it has a lifetime license on it. Feature-wise the xl4 is great, but it is so slow to go between menus and a lot of other annoyances. Seems like the roamios have a dual core processor don't they? The oppo 103d is much faster going through menus and selecting letters and whatnot, compared with the 93, and the 103d has a dual core, so I bet the roamios are a lot better as far as functionality, as well.
