Yes Friday! Can't get here fast enough. Although its more likely Saturday will be setup and listen day

Finally got the XPA 5 hooked up this evening and it is now working with my Onkyo 818 for a 9.1 setup using Mirage OMD speakers. Extremely easy to setup and choose monoprice interconnects which were easy to work with.

Initial impressions of unit are that it seems well built and with the aluminum front it fits in nicely with the rest of the equipment on my rack including an Oppo 103, buttkicker amp etc.

Sound thus far is very clean and there is certainly no worry that I will be running out of power when listening to music at reference levels which is nice. Haven't had a chance yet to watch a movie or recalibrate everything with Audessey but looking forward to playing around more this weekend and will report back.

Just ordered the XPA-5 and their 2 meter RCA, 5 of them.
I'm going to connect it to my Integra DTR 40.3 and my M&K 750 thx front 3 with M&K surr 55t tripoles and SVS pc12+.
I'm nervous I won't be able to tell a difference in sound.

You and me both! But I will know tonight. I also have the peace if mins knowing if I notice no difference I can easily sell it

A little time reading threads on this or any audio (car, camera, whatever) should be enough to convince anyone of the correlation between spending money and improved performance, real or not; at least the perception is there.

If anyone has heard both, how does the XPA-5 compare to McIntosh MC8207?

XPA-5 was delivered just few minutes ago. Both Brian and baby are doing well.

Pay attention to the game...........

I've noticed a substantial difference having hooked up the XPA-5 instead of straight from my Pioneer SC-1222. Much much louder and clean. Has anyone else noticed a burning smell, sort of like when you turn on the heater for the first time in the winter? Like it just burned off the settled dust? I noticed it with mine the first time I had it cranked at reference for about 20 minutes. I haven't noticed it since.

Thank you. I don't know the overall popularity of these anymore but I felt this would be the absolute best way for me to upgrade my look and have something as close to custom for my new equipment. I love the contrast of color and the stain choice I used. It all is coming together nicely. I just have to wait for my Integra DHC 80.2 to get here next week and I will be ready to hook everything up. Also have to get some more banana connectors so I can use them for my amp.

I have a similar rack. Plain white wood with posts like yours and deviders for 5 or 6 shelves.
My XPA-5 should be here next week. I'll have to put it on the top shelf which means I can't have my center there. Which sucks cus I got no other place for the center.

That is why I went with my setup. I have a center channel that matches my B&W 703 towers that I haven't been able to use with my current center. So I saw a similar design to this and decided to go for it. 3/4" rod is plenty stout for my setup. Going to be 65" long and 24" deep which will give me plenty of room for any components I use. The middle board will be really close to the top of the amp and pre/pro but with it being an open air design I don't feel I should have a terrible concern with heat. We will see what happens.

Ok I can't really give a total review of my thoughts yet since there was no listening over -25. But I can defiantly hear a more crisp and separated sound. Only able to listen to pink Floyd the wall cd loaded onto the iPhone. Crisp and very wide soundstage with incredible imaging

Tomorrow after 4 I will really crank it and the movie Dredd is tomorrow night so full review to follow.

The amp looks really cool in the AV console. Glad to see that you were able to make room for the amp in there.

Also, hopefully tomorrow after formal re-calibration you will be able to enjoy ever further your new setup. The cool thing is going louder while enjoying clear and defined sound with no distortion.

I am really nervous that I won't hear an improvement over the amps in my Integra DTR 40.3. I think the Integra is just ok nothing special.

Yes they are psb I love them.

I can now fully guarantee you notice a sound difference especially if your not over enamored by you current amp.

Brian was talking about your Integra receiver. The amps inside there will be completely different from hooking up your XPA-5. Brian is basically saying if you aren't completely happy with how your sound is on the Integra, you should notice a difference using this amp.
