Sony at the 2010 Game Developers Conference

The GDC is here and Sony is scheduled to put up their presentation at 4:00 PM (PST) on Wednesday, March 10th. It's not the same kind of event as E3 or the Tokyo Game Show... there will likely not be a lot of new announcements on games and stuff. Developers are there to talk about their trade in a bunch of meetings (marketing, production, programming tech, etc.), so don't expect a lot of reveals.

However, Sony will be putting some focus on what's in store for the PS3 in the near future including (my guess) their MMOs in development, the Arc controller, key PSN titles, and perhaps their stereoscopic 3D tech for games and movies. In fact, current rumors are...

- A PS3 firmware update for 3D movies is said to be out soon (3D ready TV required)

- The Arc wand will come with an additional stick controller for the other hand so you won't need the Dual Shock 3 for basic controls

- Killzone 3 is rumored to be up for an announcement soon

All of this may be false, so we'll have to see what is actually discussed when it happens. Live streaming can be found here.

Here is some pre-conference news that may or may not get detailed in the keynote speech... Santa Monica Studios (God of War III developer) is taking only a week off before they get started on TWO new projects, one short term (a PSN title maybe?) and one long term that'll be a few years out.
