Stuttering when running media browser/Media Player Classic under Win 7 Media Center

I am experiencing the audio and video stuttering problem, (irregular and slow playback), when attempting to play .mkv files using media player classic started from media browser under 32 bit Windows 7 media center. If I use MPC-HC alone the movie plays fine.

Any ideas on how to fix this so movies run properly when started with Win7 media center running?

Is it when you first enter media browser and quickly try to play the file? I noticed I hvae to wait a few minutes so it can refresh before I try to play something otherwise there is a huge delay.

I have not waited a few minutes after entering media browser. I will give that a try.

I have 4 gigs of memory and I absolutely have to do this. Its not jsut from rebooting it is specifically when I click on media browser and first enter it. The refresh takes a long long time even when I tried using the new sqlite addon (Firestorm includes experimental support for an SQLite database which will further improve the experience. To enable this feature you’ll simply need to download and copy the correct version of the SQLite DLL to the ProgramData\\MediaBrowser folder.) http://www.hack7mc.com/2010/01/media...-features.html

You might want to give that a whirl if you have not already. I cant really tell if its faster or not or maybe I didnt do something right.

The other thing you can do if it is indeed from media browser is try to have all your meta data stored locally.

I noticed as well its specifically mkv files and it must be because they just need so many more resources. Once I have media browser fully refreshed and you can check the progress at the bottom of the new version, then I can click on any files and not have this slowdown.

I waited 5 minutes but that did not help.

Recently added movies seem to play OK, (limited to 20). Older mkv movies I must find by clicking on "videos" at the bottom of the media browser window are the one's I am having stuttering problems with. Also, their meta data pictures do not seem to be loading.

I upgraded media browser to 2.2.3 and it seems to be running fine, in fact much better than ever.

Try that addon too.
