Getting a 2.1 system looking for speakers under $150

I am looking for some speakers to build a 2.1 system with. I am going to be starting out with just a receiver and 2 speakers but will get a sub eventually.

I was looking at the Polk R150's which are $99 for a pair. Are they any good or can I do better for that price?

They are OK. You can get better polk deals on ebay. they have an outlet

Would the TSI100s or Polk Monitor 30s be better then the R150s? They are like $130

Well my brother is actually getting these and he does not want 5.1

I think I am going to go with the Monitor 30s on newegg for $90 after coupon code.
