Is this possible? Also wondering how to exit service menu do you just turn the set off?

thanks .

I've never been in the 670 service menu so I can't answer your widget question. However, yes, you turn off the set to exit the service menu.

I have the following problem. I have been updating the firmware for my 40c653 with the one that appeared in 27.01.2011. After that i have some problems with Internet@TV. Yahoo widget was deleted and i can`t find it in the widget galery. Also Youtube, Picasa, Facebook, Twitter tell me that a new version is found and it need to update, turn off the tv and then on to complete. I have done that many times, it shows like it makes some update and when i want to acces them again the same thing with update appears...
Any ideas?
Thank You.

Thanks

If you kept a copy of the prior firmware, you could try using it. Otherwise, I guess you'll have to wait until the next firmware. You might try contacting Samsung directly to report your problems. Maybe they will have a solution.

New here but have been reading this thread for a while.

I just picked up the LN46c670 from BB for a great deal. I originally bought the 630, but after seeing the 670 with the UCP screen, I returned the 630 the next day unopened and took home the 670.

Just set it up a couple of days ago and all I can say is WOW! Picture is fantastic. My son watched a bit of The Incredibles on DisneyXD though Comcast and the picture looked almost like 3D.

I was a little worried because I have the the CN03 panel, but I do not have any problems with any of the issues I've been reading about here. No flashlighting or clouding, no ghosting, just amazing. Coming from an 8 year old 46" Sony rear projection, the difference is night & day.

Maybe I got lucky with my panel, but no problems whatsoever so far.

Hi guys, finally pulled the trigger on LN55C630. By doing my research and asking all type of questions on this forum, I have learned a lot about this TV.

I was originally going to purchase a 46 in for my bedroom since I was only going to be 8 feet away from the TV however most of the response I received was that the most common regret was not going bigger so I am going bigger.

The LN55C630 is a new batch that just came in from Samsung so hopefully I will be getting the better(?) SQ panel.

My question which was posted here before but I am just double checking again.

I am trying to find out if I can still use my current wireless headphone which is connected to my TV by a 3.5 in mini stereo plug (like used on a MP3 player).

I know there is an audio output right above the digital output. I received an answer here that the audio output used a micro (2.5 in) plug instead of the standard 3.5 in audio plug so I would just need to purchase an adapter that take my 3.5 in down to 2.5 in but when I called Samsung support, the person actually went to check on a TV that was there and told me that it was not a micro plug but it is a 5.1 (whatever that means) so it would not work with my current wireless headphone.

So is it possible for someone who have the LN55C630 to actually check to see if it is really a 2.5 micro plug or in fact a 5.1

If it is 5.1, is there any way I can get a wireless headphone to work so I wouldn't wake up everyone in the house when I am watching TV at 1am?

You guys have been a world of information here and hope someone can help me find a solution to this problem for me. Thanks for any help

I just got the 670 myself with the same panel and I am so so happy with the TV. I don't have any clouding, banding or anything. There is a tiny amount of backlight leak around the edges, but it really does not bother.

I ended up bypassing my receiver for all my inputs though which is a bit of a pain, but that is my AVR's fault not the TV. I think I need to get a new AVR w/ HDMI bypass on it. I have 4 HDMI's going into the TV and 2 opticals and 2 digital coaxes into the AVR. But now that I have done it the picture is amazing.

I was worried about the panel as well but after a ton of scrutinizing it I can't find an issue..at all.

I went from a couple of Samsung plasma's to this and I have to say not having to worry about burn in, break in or anything like that is a nice relief.

I have not had it calibrated or even used a calibration disc (I have one on the way though) and I think the picture looks great. Blu Rays are amazing and even SD looks nice with the scaling abilities of the TV. My only wish? They had a 55" version. I realize the 650 comes in that size, but I honestly am so happy with this panel I don't want to mess about.

Nothing has changed the answer you got here when you asked the question the first time. We posted a picture of the back side of the TV showing the jack pack. The Samsung support person was referring to the digital audio out Toslink port which does deliver 5.1 audio to devices that can decode it under certain conditions. Not for headphones.

I just plugged a 3.5mm plug into the Audio Out port on my LN46C630. It fits but didn't quite seat. That means that it is a 3.5mm plug, it's just that my plug isn't quite right or I didn't push it in hard enough. If it was a 2.5mm submini port my 3.5mm plug would never have fit at all.

BTW you must be referring to a 3.5mm plug as a 3.5 inch plug would be awfully large.

This port is an analog out and would work fine with headphones - provided the headphones have their own volume control and (maybe) an amplifier. It's fixed volume out, and it's analog. So you do need a volume control at the very least. Some headphones can be (poorly) driven without an amplifier in the circuit, some can't. Not sure about wireless headphones, they may have their own amplifier to transmit the signal at a high enough strength.

The "5.1" they were referring to is the digital optical audio out, a different port altogether. You would need a DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) with a 3.5mm analog out to connect your wireless headphones to this one. Probably not feasible.

Thanks Dana and Fraoch for your response.

Dana, I do remember your post and the nice picture of the back where it shows the audio out plug.

Nice of both of you to confirm that it does take the 3.5mm plug, now I just need to wait for my TV to arrive.

Thanks again.

I use wireless earphones and speakers with my plasma without any problem, however when using those earphones with an older JVC plasma the volume on the TV had to be turned up almost to maximum in order to activate the wireless transmitter.

If your wireless set is as sensitive as mine there could be a
problem if the volume has to be turned sky high as the speakers on these sets dont cut off when earphones are plugged in.
Hopefully the mute button only cuts off the audio to the speakers and not both.

EDIT
If I get a chance this weekend I'll check it out.

Although the User Manual isn't entirely clear, what it does say on page 11 ...

Quote:
• When an audio amplifier is connected to the AUDIO OUT jacks: Decrease the volume of the TV and adjust the volume level with the amplifier’s volume control.

... suggests to me that the output from this jack is a line level signal i.e., not amplified - in which case the volume control on the wireless headphones will function and the TV volume can be reduced to zero if not muted.

I hope we'll get some feedback from csun213 to share with others after he tries his new set with wireless headphones.

I have a LN55C630 and I've noticed the input lag is really bad on it even on game mode. I have tried pc mode and its still about 70ms is there any way to fix this! I have the ps3 hooked up to the HDMI2 port and I have unticked 720p so it can only go 1080

PS3 should be hooked into HDMI1. Use game mode, and check all output resolutions on your PS3 (480i, 480p. 720p, 1080p) so that the game can output in its native resolution.

Black ops is 720p. By not ticking this on your PS3 your forcing additional scaling by the PS3 that wasn't what was intended by the developers. I play Black Ops alot and have no issues.

Just wanting to confirm that I went into service menu and changed c670 to c650. Now when you push the hot apps button on the remote, instead of doing nothing it goes to yahoo widgets. works sweet

Wonder if that would work for a c630?

Is it possible you're confusing input name with the actual game mode setting?

Leave the input name as "game". To actually put that input into game mode, on the main menu you have to go to:

SET-UP ➜ GENERAL ➜ GAME MODE ➜ ON/OFF

I may be reaching here but just throwing it out there.

I use the PS3 as my blu ray player, if I turn game mode on, will it have any effect on the movie? Should I only turn it on when I play and back off to watch a movie?

You're going to disable some image processing. It's up to you to decide if the picture is acceptable watching movies with game mode on.

Even with game mode on there is about a 2 frame lag. I can see where it is a problem with CoD

I just picked up an LN46C670 for my parents (replaced a 6 year old Sony RP with a bad optical block). I'm having a weird problem with their cable remote and a quick search of this thread didn't turn up anything.

They have Time Warner Cable, an SA4250HD box, and a Clickr-5 remote (provided by TWC). I can program the remote to control the TV, but the System Power button on the remote only seems to work to turn the TV on. When they press System Power to turn it off, the cable box goes off but the TV does not. Hitting the TV and then Power buttons will turn the TV off, but it seems that you have to do this more than once. They had an earlier remote (from around 2008, different style) that did the same thing, so it makes me believe that there's something unique about the TV, not something wrong with the remote. Any thoughts about this? My parents are not young and really only use the power, volume, and channel buttons on the remote, so they don't need anything more. Also, they don't live near by, so I can't go pick up and set up another remote.

I use a Monster 100 universal remote. (It uses Logitech software under license.) It works perfectly with the LN55C650.

Do you have the programming instructions for the Clicker-5 remote? I found a PDF here.
