This may not be 100% accurate and I have not looked at the manual:
Digital stations (most everyone now) can not be "fine tuned", it is automatic when they get "locked in". If you can fine tune, I suspect would only be for analog stations (which there are very few and they are low power). There are OTA groups here on AVS. I monitor the Los Angeles one, but don't use OTA anymore. /Dan

I purchased my 55C630 after much research and help from people here on the forum. The TV has been great with excellent color and picture. Now a few months later, this morning when I turned on the TV, the colors are all off. Check the setting and they are still the same from before. The red is more of a pink color. I turned off the TV and then back on again, now everything is back to normal.

My question now is whether this is just a one time thing or is my TV breaking down? It is still under the 1 year warranty right now. Any opinion is greatly appreciated.

Was the TV connected to another device that generated the signal? If so, by HDMI?

In any event, I'd wait until the phenomenon repeats itself when connected to more than one device before concluding that the TV is failing.

Also, register the TV with Samsung here and get a three month extension on your warranty just in case.

Thanks for your quick response. The TV is hooked up to Direct TV DVR by Hdmi cable. Purchased the TV in June and has been registered with Samsung already. I also purchased extended warranty. This was the first time that the color had changed since I purchased it. I have turned the TV off and on about 3 times now and have not seen the problem.

My brother-in-law has a Samsung LN46C650 and uses his PC and Windows Media Center as a DVR for OTA programming. He would like to play the files over his home network on his Samsung. Unfortunately, the Samsung does not play Windows Media Center's .wtv files. Any suggestions?

How do you turn off the auto-dim on dark image 'feature'? It seems to occur even in movie mode .

If there is no other way to do it I suggest trying this free conversion
program and converting the videos to a format recognized by the TV.
I havnt used this program and dont know how long it takes to
do a conversion.

http://mctvconverter.vivolum.net/con...ome/index.html

Seems this program will output the converted copy wherever you want.

"I am using version 2.0.0. I need help with the converting process. My OS is Win 7 Pro 32bit. I have set the program to watch a folder on another computer's hard drive which has my TV tuner card using Win 7 Pro 64bit over my network. I have also set the program to output the converted file to my network attached storage (NAS) hard drive."

Hi.

Because the media player of this tv is stores NOT only the position of the movie i saw but the movies i have to my hard disk even if i delete these movie files(If i have it sorted by date) i want to know if there is a method that i can completely REMOVE/DELETE the memory of media player so if i put another subtitles to any movie file with the same file name as the previews subtitle don't show me the old subtitle.

A lot of thanks for all your answers.

Hey guys. Maybe this has been discussed here but I haven't checked on this thread in a while.

I have the LN46C670, the Best Buy model. I think this is just about identical to the LN46C650.

I was pissed that I could not get Amazon Instant Video on the C670 because there was not Yahoo widget. I did a power off....mute...1---8----2...power on and then changed my model to the C650. I then turned the tv off then on. When I launched @internet the yahoo widget came up immediately and I was able to get Amazon Instant Video installed.

I just did this but it looks like all is well with it.
I have a c650 and when i use the yahoo widget all the options to blend with your TV show (like an on-screen widget) aren't working.

It just works on full screen mode, but no TV in the back.

Is this a limitation of my tv or a problem with the widget?

anyone notice this?

My LN46c630 is acting crazy with my FIOS 7232 DVR suddenly. The DVR gradually becomes unresponsive to the remote. If I turn off the TV, the remote functions. As soon as I turn the TV on again, I get one or two keypresses then nothing again. I'm hooked up via HDMI and swapped ports with no change. Any ideas as to what is going on here?

Infrared being swamped out by the TV screen radiating? Never had the issue myself, but saw many satellite box owners talking about it. I think masking tape over the receiver IR window helped (or was it the transmitter-remote?). Most had the issue only happen the first few minutes the TV is on. Get next to the box, cover things with tape, etc. to test the theory.

Forgot which AVSForum thread and it has been many months since I saw it last. I can try a search to see if I can find some info if you need. /Dan

I've used a program called Tweak Now Powerpack 2011. It has a secure shredder for the recycle bin. Run that while hooked up to the pc and the entry will be gone. I thought I was going nuts for a while...

I ordered an IR extender from Amazon.com. I discovered that if you turn up the backlight just a bit, the DVR would start to work again.

FYI. the IR extender was garbage and worse than what I had. Moved the DVR to the center front of the TV as opposed to the side and now it works much better.

Ok, so my FIOS DVR doesn't respond to my remote unless I turn up the backlight on the TV. I have had the DVR replaced as well as the remotes replaced. So I call up Samsung support. They will not even send someone out to look at the problem because if the TV works fine, then it's not their problem. Gee, if I turn up the backlight, turn off the tv or throw a blanket over the TV it works, it must NOT be the TV. I'm at wits end. Anyone have any suggestions?

The TV is causing it, but I agree it is not at fault. I blame FIOS DVR for being too sensitive to IR. Search AVS for the issue. I think it was Dish or Direct TV receivers that also had the problem bad a couple years ago. Most LCDs (especially/only? CCFL backlight) generate IR especially while warming up. I think masking tape over the box's receiving window or the remotes transmitter was a fix. /Dan

I tried all the fixes and workarounds to no avail. Whatever it is, it is getting worse. I've swapped DVRs and remotes to no benefit. Everything was fine until the TV was serviced for the screen flicker problem (clipped jumpers).

Hi, our LN55C630, 3 months out of warrantee decided today to go dark on the RHS. It's fine on the left side. It's independent of input source, I've reset it to factory defaults and got lighter snow on the left. The backlight and brightness levels don't affect it. It's Always brighter on the left. It only looks unform, the same across the (dark) screen, when the brightness level is all the way down.
Advice please? I couldn't find a similar problem using thread search. I also see there's a firmware upgrade I should apply from last Oct. Should I buy a service manual for $28, and what board do you think it might be, they seem pretty cheap... Thanks, Mark

Two thoughts on the warranty. If you registered your purchase with Samsung, the one year written warranty was extended by three months = a 15 mo. warranty.

Many states have implied warranties that go beyond the written ones. Consult with an attorney or your state AG's office before you start any repair yourself. I recently got a full refund of $2,200 on replacement windows that leaked after the one year written warranty had expired because my attorney wrote a letter.

my LN55C630 went dark on the right side too - it did this a month ago and I opened up a service claim as it was still on warranty - when I arranged to bring the display in, it would exhibit this problem so they couldn't address it.
Today, it happened again, I snapped a couple pics with the iPOD of it doing this, the pics have images of my IRD's video display set-up screen and of it's IPG.
The warranty place said the pictures would certainly help.

Anyone who has the LN46C630 and experienced flickering/strobing months after the warranty expires, What was your fix?

I've read various things such as:

-replacing the power board and video inverter
-cutting a jumper on the power board (sounds sketchy)
-replacing the power caps on the power board (if caps were bubbled)

To anyone else, any thoughts? I've tried to get Samsung to extend my warranty with a one-time fix for this, because it seems to be a widespread issue with other LN46C630 owners who have used the tv for more than a year, but that request was denied.

I havnt been keeping up with this but I believe some of those repairs, especally the bulging caps, only applied to model years up to 2008 or 2009.
Faulty caps supposedly affected model years before that time so hopefully
2010 and 2011 models dont have that issue.

Make more noise and escalate the issue to a higher level. It's a known issue with their power supplies and they should fix it. In my case they clipped a couple of jumpers.

I have been having issues with this TV since I got it a year ago. It has trouble accepting input from a computer via HDMI.
I have tried many configurations. I have hooked up a white Macbook to mini DVI adapter to a DVI to HDMI cable. I have also hooked up a current generation Macbook Pro via mini Displayport to HDMI adapter to a HDMI cable to the TV. I have also hooked up a Mac Mini (the last one to have a DVD drive containing both mini DVI and mini Displayport) to the TV in both of the cable configurations that I used with the Macbook and the Macbook Pro. All three of the these computers have been tested using Leaopard, Snow Leopard, and Lion OS. I have also tried swapping out the cables. Subsequently, I have hooked up iPhones, and iPad 2, and an Apple TV (2nd version, small black puck), and 2 different Blu-ray players and they have never had an issue.

I say all of this to say that the issue is with the TV and not the computers. The TV will accept signals from any dedicated for a TV device but will cause the TV to display the "No Signal check your cable connection etc..." message when a computer is plugged into it. This issue comes and goes. You can swap HDMI ports, reboot/turn on and off both the TV and the computers to no effect. Usually after about 30 minutes of being on it will work. I had this issue when I first purchased the TV and they had me do a firmware upgrade (didn't fix the issue) and a master reset. After that I was good to go for about 9 months. Now for the last 2 months it will work for a few weeks at a time but always after me giving up and just leaving the darn thing on long enough to start working again.

I love this TV. I love the look and feel of it. I unfortunately only use it as a computer monitor and it keeps failing on me. Samsung has been no help. I have taken my computer to our local Sears and Best buy and tested it on their models and they do the same thing. Any of you that have this TV and use it with a computer find a solution?
do you have access to a PC to test with? I use it all the time with my laptop. sounds like an apple issue.
Is this considered to be a good series/model of Samsung TV? Is it normal for the kinds of tings wrong that people are talking about here? Will this TV last me if I buy it?
I've tried 2 HP laptops and a Dell. Same issue.
Again, I've done enough testing to rule out it being a computer output issue.
The TV seems to only like devices where you arent able to configure the video out settings.
