I'm sorry if I missed this, but what screen fabric are you using and is it still going to be a torus screen?

The real Torus projects are even better than Skoll:

Cinema has been painted black, difficult to capture with camera.

Projector got lifted into position.

We had ourselves, the acoustic treatment installer for the ARS , Ray Callahan, and some excellent installers from Advanced Home Theater -the sub doing the equipment install today plus the electricians going full blast.

Hey the ARS system is already kicking ass...

For someone like myself that has not much patience for hocus pocus acousticians this is something practical and very high end for a reasonable investment.

Thanks Peter for sharing. So, D is for diffusion and S is for absorbtion? Others not marked are just fabric covered fiberglass or something?
Peter Ray did my initial setup, good people who know their art. Your project is coming together pretty fast for its size and complexity, good work and management.

The fiberglass panels are reversible one side soft one side hard pressed. The later is only effective for lf absorption.

Like Andy Munro the man behind Dynaudio acoustics I hate the THX approach of over deadening.

Thanks Alan, actually it's quite a stressful effort, let's hope it comes out as smoothly as wolfgangs 4k doppelganger.

This is Ray Callahans first projector siting attempt, we need to go back and higher a few inches to fill the screen.

Both my sons chipped in today....

Even though the room gets cleaned twice a day you need lamps to get to see the remaining dust. We used up 10 damp microfiber rags to clean around the projector. Then we fired it up.

The front wall treatment is almost ready tomorrow the joinery starts going in...

I am asking this because we are doing a job with an Oppo BDP93 and the player does not work with the DM switcher when DTS-HD MA material is played...

We get an escellent picture quality but no sound is passing through the DM switch... when it goes back to dolby digital, the sound comes back...

I was just wondering if you had a similar problem with your setup...

This is a superb project by the way ! Really nice !

Regards,

seems the germany language gets more and more popular in us

its not so smoothly as you know that such installations are a lot of work.

smoothly was only that some very major issues how to feed 4k in 3d and so
on runns without any problem and thats a surprise but other things that
looks at the beginning very simple are take more time that expect.
one sample was the sound proof wall.

yesterday i fire up one 4k with one lamp and it seems that the sound proof
walls doing a good job.

but lets ask alan if he may can open a germany spoke section at avs
that will make it more easy for both of us

I have always said German is a Natural language for Engineering Talk(you can describe in one word what takes a whole sentence in English or Spanish).

Here are more pictures.

The Tigerblood Rug went into the front of the room awaiting screen swing mechanism.

rug is protected with thin masonite.

The walls a dark potato sack color is now covering one and a half side walls. The ceiling (dark brown is coming late Aug).

Thanks fredrik.

We need to assemble the center to left array first so that when the screen comes in the hinge and trolley system can be fitted within it.

You will understand better after Friday.

Checking one seat box that arrived fat at the bottom. The seats fit and finish is exquisite.

They say T cruise listens to a similarly configured system 40 feet back at 105db average.

This large screen will pivot on the right, at the left there is a trolley to glide over the tiger rug.

All kinds of custom fittings are been adapted to accomodate the install.

I changed the lens to the 1.25 td zoom, now we should get a little bit over 16 feet wide, before image was 14.33 wide.
