You'll want to use the ARC if you want to get more than stereo out of the TV.

Multichannel output is only possible from off-air channels, everything else will be stereo. This is pretty standard for most TVs.

Has anyone else noticed a small spark or blue-white flash when they turn their TV on? It's very small and seems to come from right next to the red power LED on the bottom of the bezel. I don't recall seeing it except lately, 2 years in. It may be normal, for all I know.

I've noticed it maybe 3 times in the last couple weeks, it doesn't happen often. I'm getting paranoid I'm going to turn it on one of these days and it'll pop on me..

Yes. Mine has done it from day one.

I had a tech out to replace a card and he said it is normal..

Cool. It's weird I've only just now started noticing it, but I'm glad it's normal behavior.

Thanks for the peace of mind!

Check out the display calibration forum, there is thread for availible calibrators. I believe "Ray JR" services your area and he is quite good.

i think best way to get better sound out of your tv is add bose compact sound system or a sound bar.

If you mean software (firmware) updates, the current version is 3.72 and is the only one required as it includes all previous updates. This can be downloaded to USB from the Panasonic support site or directly within the TV if it is connected to the internet via its ethernet port.

Go to Amazon and order a set of Sony Playstation3 3D glasses for about $25, they work just fine with the Pre-VT50 Panasonic models.

I bought this tv in 2010 and got the 10 blinks of death. I replaced the mother board and it didn't fix the issue. So according to the service manual, SC board was the next option. I replaced that and the TV now turns on, but the picture (on all or no inputs is as seen in the attached picture. Is there a simple way to fix this?
