Well, my S1 out of the box was easily just as dark, and that is confirmed by reviews, with the 50 VT20 measuring .004 ftl, and 58S1 .005/6, so maybe marginally brighter. Certainly KILLS my S1's black level now. I'd say that the VT20 is at least 2.5 times darker than my 58S1 now.
Certainly more than .001 ftl Really a joke. But yeah, I was hoping for deeper blacks his year, but they are only marginally better pre rise.The 3D is killer. Really good.
