"heavier 2010 model" = cooler automatically? Onkyo 607 vs 608

I was looking at the new Onkyo 608 to replace my 606 (HDMI dauterboard keeps blowing up like everyone else). The 608 is 2lbs HEAVIER than the 607 adn 3lbs than the 606 with similiar power.

Can we assume this will decrease heat?

I don't think we can assume that. The HDMI board problems in the 606 are generally thought to be caused by 1) physical placement of the board in the hottest part of the receiver and/or 2)defective boards from Onkyo's supplier. Unless those two problems have been rectified, I can't see where the added weight would make a difference.
