AVRs with Dual Stereo Mode

I'm looking for an AV receiver that has "dual stereo" mode. In other words, when playing stereo music, I'd like the same audio to come from the front two speakers and the back two speakers in my 5.1 setup.

When I use XBMC (I'm sure some are familiar with this app), I can send a stream like this straight to my receiver. However, I'd like to be able to do the same with other stereo audio sources.

Do many AV receivers have this capability? I don't usually see it listed in their specifications.

Marantz calls it "multi-channel stereo", since as many as 6 speakers are involved (3 left & 3 right) if you have a 7.1 channel system.

many have that function i believe.

arcam calls it party mode.

Yes, there seem to be a few different terms for what I'm looking for.

I've been looking at models from Pioneer and Onkyo. Anybody know whether this is a common feature in models from thos companies? Arcam and Marantz are most likely out of my current budget.

Denon and Onkyo both have what they call "all channel stereo." I had a Denon 3300 and now have an Onkyo 805 and they both have (had) this capability. I think it is a very common capability; I am not so sure how many people actually use it.

Yes, I know that many have written that they use, and like, this capability. I found that I liked it on some songs, but not others. However, at the time I last used it my surround speakers were not all that good. Should probably give it another shot, but I sheldom listen to just music; mainly native 5/7.1 material.

it probably does make a difference as i have the same full range speakers as fronts and rears. mood and beer also make a difference.
