For those that see flickering

I mentioned in the "Official 3D Thread" that I don't notice any flickering at all with my DLP and IO glasses. I also mentioned that I'd read that a low battery in shutter glasses can cause this.

I've had my glasses with the original battery for nearly two months now, and low and behold, I noticed flickering today. It's an odd flicker, even looking at a static image, it seems to flicker about once a second. I even made sure it wasn't the source, so I watch a few samples that I know I've never seen flickering on.

So as of right now, until I replace the batteries tomorrow, it seems extremely plausible that this is the reason some, if not all see flickering.

I'll post again in this thread tomorrow evening after I replace the batteries to see if the flickering went away. Hopefully Radioshack or Batteries Plus carries them.

btw, to those that talked about the flickering being a distraction, I totally agree. I couldn't fathom watching a 22 minute sitcom with this.

When watching 3D images under a fluorescent lamp (50Hz ~ 60Hz) or 3 wavelength lamp, you may notice a small amount of screen flickering. If so, dim the light or turn the lamp off.

No lights on here, besides my backlight, which is always on. Though I understand your point, the cause of flickering can be from multiple factors.

I didn't see any flicker at all in the Sony Style store demo in Las Vegas, but when looking at the same(?) set at the Sony 3D demo at the MGM Grand Hotel, there was a faint one. However, the MGM demo was in a bright room.

So, I replaced the batteries a little over a week ago, and the flickering was still there. As I've mentioned before, it used to not be this way, so I thought maybe the glasses were going bad.

This past Friday, for S&Gs, I decided to try them again. I turned the 3D mode on, low and behold, no flickering. I don't know what caused the problem before, the only thing different to my system is I updated from Catalyst 10.1 to 10.3a, but they worked before with Cats 10.1, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

Very odd.
