Need some advice on 5.1 with budget of $350

I am looking into replacing a set of logitech Z5500(bedroom) and my desktop speakers(Logitech z530 or something, thx certified).

For the desktop, I am thinking about purchasing a receiver and SPIDIF through a sound card that is DDL capable. I am thinking about getting the RC-micro for 399, but I am afraid that the bass is lacking (i really would like a 12 inch sub). My next option is to get the take classics 5.0 and then put in a BIC 12inch sub....but the take classics are large speakers.

For my bedroom, I am thinking about a BIC sub plus the take classics to replace the Z5500. There will be a noticible difference for the upgrade right?

SO what do you guys recommend? I want the floor standing speaker sound but without having to buy such large speakers. Also I am considering the Swans MKII plus a bic sub.

Anyways, budget is 350-400 per set. Bedroom=99%movies, desktop=a mix of movies, gaming and music.
Lets just say I would love to have the same fidality I get from my Shure E4c headphones with the computer setup...because currently the Z530=POS I cannot stand. The Z5500 sounds tiny compared to my floor standing polk setup(R70, CS2, infinity 12inch sub).

Considering:
Energy Take 5 classic with Bic 12inch Sub
RC-Micro 5.1 package
Polk Rm8 speakers with bic 12 inch sub(anyone heard of these?)
Jamo 5.1 package

What about this set? it comes with a nice little sub.

under your budget

Are you wanting a surround sound for your computer? or just the front 3 and the sub?

If you just want the front 3 these seem like decent desktop speakers http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/it...1827/jamo-c401

And a matching center http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/it...2/jamo-c400cen

I dont have the room on my desktop for big speakers, i just use cubes then hide the sub down by the printer.
