CyberlinkUSA i have got it sorted, the thing is my panny is a 50px70 which has a res of 1,366 x 768,now it will accept 1080p of tmt3 but if i use powerdvd it asks me if it can drop it down to this res 1366 x 768 while it plays the film,is that normal and also is it best to use enable hardware acceleration or use true theatre affect,im using a onboard 4200hd and a athlon x4 620 quad, any advice please

Tom- please answer the questions regarding hard drive playback of all disks ripped to hard drives: DVD folders, dvd iso, Bluray folders, and bluray isos.

I need to know if there are any limitations whatsoever in whether Powerdvd 10 will play disks ripped to hard drives.

Thank you.

PowerDVD 10 has the best image i seen in my whole life.
PowerDVD 9 was crap.

Nice work.

OK then Tom needs to explain if that is a bug or a deliberate "feature" put in by Cyberlink to limit ripped disk playback functionality.

If the idiotic movie distribution industry would just give us managed copy, I would be fine with using it. Until then, I need to know if Cyberlink is making some deliberate attempts to limit functionality with ripped disks.

well ive press stop twice just to make sure there isnt a resume on it and it still does it,its just pot luck were its going to start from, going to try a few mkv films tomorrow aswell to see how they go

Well seems like another step backwards to me. I installed the trial, like all previous PDVD install will change all file assoc. to it, doesn't ask just does it. Will not play video from a network share, i have WHS and will not see it or any other PC's in the network, so playing files directly not possible, unless i missed something. Movies can only be played from DVD or Virtual DVD Drives, there are no other selections possible. It did play MKV's well, at least the ones i tried. I didn't even bother with bitstream, not playing files from network already did it for me.. And don't even get me started with MovieLive crap, just most annoying piece of software i have seen.
7.1 DTS-MA doesn't look like its supported yet, wasn't PDVD9 getting some sort of PowerPack to support all HD tracks? what happened to that? makes me wonder about upcoming 3D pack.. There are some good things about it 2, not all negative-- PQ really nice, the upscaling of DVD content is very nice, MKV's played well (HD tracks are not passed thru as far i can tell) and GUI bit cleaner now. anyhow, i tried and once again i'll pass.

Tom, when can we expect PowerDVD to properly perform 2:3 pulldown detection? I ran the HQV test disk and it failed this particular test (same for earlier versions of PowerDVD as well).

Regards,

Chris

1 - does not play avi file (DivX) and WMV
2 - The DVD that will play back on Hard Disk, are framed in the skin and do not go full screen.
3 - DVD Hard Disk can not be launched from the context menu, but only through the internal selection of PowerDVD10.
4 - Playing music files no longer have the visual effects.

PowerDVD9 these problems are not there.

Problem nr. 1 solved
1 - Uninstalling and reinstalling PowerDVD10, even cleaning the registry, I finally managed to play the AVI file (DivX), but not WMV.
2 - I had mistakenly configured ffdshow, which is activated with PowerDVD10 was enough to disable it. That way I could also play WMV files

i can confirm it PDVD10 will play Blu-Ray streams in a file structure rip just fine but can't select the whole folder afaik just have to select the main movie stream. Within W7MC however it pulled up nice and snappy but only gives you the option to eject the disc. So this tells me W7MC knows its a blu-ray folder and askes me which program i want to open it in but PDVD refuses to play it.

Thats a dealbreaker for me as i use WMC7 as my frontend on all my TV's. Everything else i've played around with works great, seems to be a lot more stable from the few hours i've played around with it than previous versions and feels alot more responsive than tmt.

Maybe im missing something but this hasn't changed iirc at all compared to pdvd9, not that anyone said it has.

Tom

Can you clarify PDVD10's support of BDMV folder structures within WMC7?

I own version 9, but don't use it because I can't access my library of BR's on my hard drives.

Thanks

Not start playing automatically introduction of the disk.
This problem happens with both the DVD with Blu-ray, I enabled the Windows 7 control panel, the autoplay is for DVD and for Blu-ray but when I insert the disk the optical flashes a bit then stops . For start reproduction should I press the mouse symbol of play (this keyboard command does not exist?).

Wonder how can I solve the problem.

Thanks for the help

The stupid Movielive stuff is still in there? Uggg, does *anyone* actually use that? I have quite a few times gone to using other software simply because of this junk. And now Facebook and Twitter? Are you kidding me? Please.

Is there anyway to disable it in either 9 or 10?

Can't I have a player that just plays the DVD or Bluray

There are lots of people, including myself, that are looking for a commercial MKV playback solution.

At the moment we have to use MPC-HC and FFDShow to get MKV's to play with bitstream TrueHD and DTS MA. If Cyberlink could sort the bitstreaming issue in MKV's, they would have plenty of new customers...including me!

Does anyone have DXVA working with the standalone filters outside of PDVD10? Particularly interested in MPEG-2 acceleration (still using the PDVD 7.3 filter for this).
Bitstream does not work in Movie Mode, back to classic mode, it works again.

ATI HD 5770 + Denon AVC-A1HDA + SONY VW80
post #145 of 1608
Once again NO BDMV folder playback support. M2ts files playback is fine with lossless audio but you can't select subtitles or change audio tracks, this is really annoying and ridiculous. Hey! Cyberlink, what the hell those engineers are doing ??????

Once bitstream of bluray HD codecs is setup in classic mode you should be able to change (and leave if you want) back to MCE mode and bitstream.
Works perfect here, ATI 5770, Onkyo 605.

Randomly trying I found the command that is not mentioned in the manual

Ctrl+M /Enter = Play

Now I can store the play button on the remote control with the keyboard shortcut.
Very useful when you stop playing the button "S", or when you have the disc in the drive.

I used the same glasses used for the movies (Real D 3D) but I could not see any effect by selecting the 3 modes available.

Which sunglasses are suited to see the 3D effect?

THANKS

You can use CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD10) for MPEG-2 freely with any DirectShow player.

You can't use CyberLink H.264/AVC and VC-1 Decoder outside PowerDVD (7.3 build > 4407, 8 build > 2217, 9/10 [all builds]).
