should i pull the trigger on a 37 inch C550? i dont want a 40 inch c530 or c550 as they both use C panels, i hate c panels, i guess ill get another A panel though , as i have an A panel in my 37 inch B550 , i just need to buy another tv for a second bedroom so.. do u know if the c550 has ghosting while gaming? my b550 does..
I don't know if it has ghosting for gaming. If you only need it for a second bedroom and your not using it much then a 37" would be fine if it meets everything you want. A panels are good but ppl are starting to say that the amva3 is what you want not the amv, I think that's there names or close to them. I'd just get the 630 model, I liek them better than the 530s or 550s.

how much does a c630 37 inch go for? and u think 700 is a good price for a 37 C550?
I have yet to see or here about a 37C630. Either it isn't out yet or there won't be one. Not sure which though. As for the 37C550 it retails for about $799. I believe it just came out. Right now though you can get a 40C630 for aorund $800 on sale, that would be a better deal and imo a better tv.

What are some recommended picture settings for the C530/550? I have the C530.
Just got the LN37C550. I love the look and the PQ of the set. Unfortunately there is a very loud buzz coming from the upper back of the tv. It's most noticeable when the set is muted. I have seen others post about this issue on the web. I spoke to Samsung tech support and was advised to return the set or set up a service call.
I bought a LN46C530 last week, and while the picture is great, the media playback feature is very disappointing.

I am seeing horrible A/V sync issues after playing media for 20-30 minutes via the USB connection (HDD or flash). Pausing and resuming helps briefly, then it'll drift out of sync again. Is driving me crazy. I've been hoping to not need my HTPC anymore, but unless there's a hope of fixing this, I'll either have to go back to using the HTPC or return it and switch to another TV. Not sure what software is being used for playback internally on this TV, but it sure isn't mplayer (no sync issues with media files when I use my Linux HTPC).

Is there any setting I can change to fix this A/V sync issue? Turning off the equalizer (clear voice) didn't help.

Had the TV for a week so far (from WalMart). I haven't updated the firmware. Contacted Samsung about the A/V sync issue, they replied in < 1 day, but said there's no firmware update available to fix the sync issue.

I am hoping to improve the TV's media playback by installing patched firmware. Is there any hope of getting to a shell on my LN46C530F1FXZA?

Is there a 2010 LCD TV model with media playback and good synchronization?

I have run into this too, most often with x264 encoded Lost episodes. The sound keeps going, but the video does not keep up and never catches up. With smaller files, it's no problem, but with a 1.1 GB, I'm guessing it goes over some internal threshold once it decompresses. I recall seeing something somewhere about a 2GB cap, which may be in effect after decompression.

I want to get around this with the WD HD Live box, and have that do all the heavy lifting.

What media server are you using? Mine is the Samsung PC Share manager, connected over ethernet cable.
At the moment, I'm not using any media server. I'm using the "Media Player" built into the Samsung TV itself, playing off a USB thumbdrive.

I recently purchased an ln46c530 and I am looking for optimal picture settings if anyone can provide the information here it would be appreciated.

Also, is the eco system function on this model the auto dimming option? I would like to disable this.

Thanks for the help.

I just purchased the LN32C530 and I have the same buzz. I was considering the LN37C550 but read about that buzz on the best buy website and stayed away from. Will be returning the set this weekend, were you able to get another 550 set? One without a buzz? O and for those keeping track the panel on my LN32C530 is AA03
post #43 of 246
I haven't noticed a buzz yet on my LN32C530, purchased last weekend. (knock wood)

Hey,

Is there any difference is picture quality between the 40C530 and the 40B550? Also, hows the C530 for gaming. Is there any lag?

Thanks.
Considering getting this set, anyone noticed any ghosting with HD channels on this one?

really? worse!? I would think the 60hz would help on the input lag. Has anyone done input lag tests with a monitor?
yes it is worse , by the way people , a warning from me, iv been to a couple stores already auditioning a couple of sets and i have to tell u, the LN 40 C550 uses the CN PANEL, beware, thats the worse type of panel u people want, also if u check amazon , alot of ppl complain of the c550s and c530s buzzing. just a warning for yall, id spend more money and get a c630 or even better c650 instead.

That still doesn't prove that it's worse, there are no tests and I haven't seen anyone who has had both and said the 530/550 was worse than the 630/650 as far as lag goes. Have you played games on both?
lol u dont seem to listen, why dont u go ahead and buy one and go through the hassle of return and then we'll talk.. dude, the c550 is worse than the b550 in terms of lag and blurr and the b550 was quiete bad, i own one so..

lol you don't seem to listen either, all i was asking is WHO said the c530/c550 had worse lag than the c630/c650. You keep saying it has worse input lag, but never tell me how you know it does. I'm not saying you're wrong, just wanted to know how you know it has worse input lag.

I own the ln37b550, when the new c550 came out i bought it but i still kept my b550, its not like i exchanged it, i just bought the c550 to try it out i thought maybe it would be better, not only was it not better, it had horrible lag when gaming with the 360, its BAD on the b550 already but its even worse on the c550, its just from my expirience, im not measuring anything, it was pretty obvious , not just that , the c550 was also BUZZING, my b550 never buzzed, if u read the few amazon reviews on the c550, u will see the buzzing is common.

cheers

ok that's legit. well that's kind of a bummer. This set looked pretty promising, but I can't handle the high input lag. Thanks for the info.
look bro, you can buy the tv like i said, its upto you im just lettin u know, thx god i didnt exchange my b550 cuz then i would have not been able to get it back cuz its discontinued now lol, i would have been screwed, i mean other than the horrid motion blur with the xbox 360 and the lag, i dont notice much lag but the motion blur was terrible, the tv was BUZZING, you can hear it even with the volume at 10, my b550 never does that. just tryin to save you some hassle, opt for the c630 or better c650.

besides, most of the c550s use the horrible CN panel, some use the A which is great but most use the CN

You have pretty much talked me out of buying this tv lol. I pretty much only play games on my ps3 so low input lag and motion blur are pretty high on my priority list. I'll see what I can find out about the C630 but knowing samsungs, it probably won't be much better in the lag department.

see , i could live with the lag but the motion blur is terrible just like my b550, every slight move in games blurs the screen and once you stop moving the picture sharpens lol, i got used to that effect but its so annoying, its a known defect i guess you could call it but many people noticed it with last years 5 series B LCDs, but i mean this time it wasnt just that, the darn tv was buzzing lol i cant NOT live with that. and ontop of everything ,it was using a CN panel , which is the lowest quality panel samsung uses, like i said above, samsung uses some A panels too in the 5 series which is a great one but you shouldnt stick with a CN panel.
yes I keep hearing about this samsung "panel lottery", so certain models of samsung use different quality panels or something? But what you're saying is the 530/550 ALL use the CN panel which is the worst right?

Pretty crazy the model buzzing as well. I didn't see any reviewers on amazon complaining about it, but I'm sure some of them do as you have experienced. Samsung just can't get it right with the buzzing issues.

Hi,

I bought a LN40C550 a few days ago and I am having some problems playing MKV files over DLNA:

I got a few MKV files with DTS audio, while some of them work, some have their audio chopping during playback. The video plays fine, only thing is the audio disappearing for half a second several times.

I converted one of these audios to AC3 and the file worked fine, but it's a pain to convert them everytime this happens.

If anyone finds a solution please post here.

Thanks in advance
