For years I have used an analog tuner card in my home server using my cable as a source. I updated my home server to a 64 bit OS, and there are no 64 bit drivers for my card. I plan to get a new card, and it has an s-video input as well. My question is whether it would be worth getting a box from my cable co and displaying an hd channel via s-video to the card, or just use the analog sd cable source. I dont need recording, I just use it to stream live sporting events over my lan, so I can watch on my laptop. The channels I use are scrambled by the cable co, so I cant just use the QAM tuner in the card to get it in hd.
