The "Official" Onkyo TX-SR608 Thread (No Price Talk) - Page 8

May be too soon to tell since we're mostly waiting for the mailman but does anyone know if the 608 will share the same hdmi handshake issues as the 607 ? No picture until manually unplugging and plugin back-in the hdmi cable.

Those of us with an old MacMini (DVI out) acting as HTPC have this issue.

Well i had a small problem today while installing the center speaker. There was a plumbing pipe that my stud finder didnt find. I did get the speaker in but it is a few inches off center. The L&R speakers went in with out any problems. I am going to install the rear and surrounds tomorrow.

I hooked them up to my old receiver to test them. I watched the battle scene in part two of the Pacific in Dolby Digital and it sounded great. They are very crisp and clear. I am glad i didnt spend the extra money for the Yamaha's i was going to get.

I will post the pics tomorrow after i get the rest installed.

Just got a call from Carl at the electronics store that I pre-ordered from. They are shipping the 608 to me tomorrow and it will be arriving at my door on Friday (4/23). Can't wait to hook this thing up and give it a test-drive!!!!

Congrats - you guys must have been high on the list. I heard they only got 20 in today. You'll have to give us a review over the weekend.

I am #77 & #78 and they said they'll be getting them in for the next week or so and I should get mine mid-next week. They had 90 preorders.

Great News!! Hope they ship mine soon! I've been without for 2 months and also have 3 new front speakers that haven't ever even been hooked up before.

That is why there are RULES no sense getting jeoulous and mad over false claims.

I was reading that ABT will be ending their presale soon... if they haven't already.

So is everyone getting notified that their 608 is being shipped or only those that ordered from Carl?

Not to mention prices, but going to ABT website, their listed price is the same as Amazon's. Is that the price you guys got or has the sale already ended?

I ordered April 5th. I didn't order from Carl, ordered from a different guy. I hadn't been contacted by them but after reading on here today that they got a shipment in I sent an email asking about status and what # I was on the preorder list.
