Yes, called the useless Onkyo "support team" who read off a script and did the reset procedure. Was the same in all regards. I just can't believe it - bought refurb stuff before - not just because of price but because they test it - and never had a problem.

Rec'd 2nd one on Thursday, set it up and worked perfect. Saturday, turned it on to a purple tv picture - swapped cables, sources, etc. Then did reset and went back to normal. This morning, turned on and POP, shuts off and starts to SMOKE with acrid electrical smell.
ONKYO offered no response other than replacing with another one...I don't think so...sending it back. Poor customer relations.
I know this is TX-SR608 thread but could anyone recommend another similar receiver that I can get for under $300 delivered (this was $288) that will be more reliable??
Also, would anybody like to purchase an ipod dock that I no longer need??? (UP-A1)
