I'm a big fan of 3d content, however I don't like the idea of using active shutter glasses, for three reasons:
a) They need a battery. How annoying is that.
b) They're heavy.
c) I'm worried that sync between TV and glasses can be imperfect, causing flawed 3d.
Polarized glasses are cheaper, lighter, and once there's a market you could probably order them from Oakley, Rayban etc. which not only looks badass but is also really comfortable to wear.
This said, is there any hope for 3DTV with passive glasses? I think LCDs can't display polarized light (if I hold a polarizing filter in front of my computer screen it goes black), but what about the other technologies?
