Remember Me

I saw this a bit reluctantly today, but it was my daughter's turn to choose (and pay).

It stars Robert Pattinson (Twilight) and Emily DeRavin (Lost). Pattinson's character is a troubled young man who falls for the lovely daughter of a veteran police detective. I didn't quite understand his angst, but it later allows his dad (Pierce Brosnan) to become a better father. You could tell (well, I could) about halfway through how this was going to end, but the twist was totally unexpected and sad.

I think it's a solid date movie and not sorry I viewed this. I'd probably watch it again, but unsure if I'd buy it.

I just watched this one. I also thought it was what you thought it was going to be, and that was a good movie in and of itself. But, yeh, the ultimate impact was pretty intense. I just got finished watching it and I'm still kind of out to lunch. It reminds me of Donnie Darko in that sense, that you get that unexpected and intense hammer blow at the end. It's almost like they set you up by playing to the standard movie story lines, making you think you know what's going to happen.

Definitely recommended.
