Hi every one,

Looking to upgrade but not right away which one of these two bad boys is the better one.

http://reference.canton.de/en/produc...nce-1.2-dc.htm

http://www.monitoraudio.ca/products/...0/your-speaker

The frequency response for the PL300 looks to be way better from 28hz to 100khz but the the cantons go deep at 18hz to 40'000hz. The specs are on the links

From the specs the pl300 has a wider freq range right? 28hz to 100khz compared to 18hz to 40hz?

You can't hear anything above 20khz so having a speaker that can go lower (into the hz range) may be more important. I'm sure they are both great. The Canton is a little larger in size and more than two times as heavy, that must be one solid speaker. The canton also handles three times the power and is about the same sensitivity so I would have to guess that it is much more dynamic and can more easily power through music and movies at any level you would ever want with ease.
By the way if you can get brand new ones for 15k I would like to talk to you about a possible purchase. Also since you can buy at such a discount even if you didnt like them you could sell them and not be out a dime.

Yeah...both Speakers are good, but the Canton would be a better speaker. You would have to hear Cantons... Put it this way....I've had a shootout with Cantons, Dynaudio, and Paradigm. Before the shootout I thought the Dynaudio's where the stuff. After the shootout Dyns where very boring. The Cantons had a wider, huge sound stage, and just threw music all over the place... a more dynamic presentation, a sense of realism, and sorta drew you into the music. The other two speakers did none of that....I must add the Paradigm Studio and Signature speaker are in no way boring, or warm... but the Canton Reference is better...the Dyns are a more warm speaker thats not as exciting as the other two, but those who have them like the overall tone and like the huge bottom end they have...they are not a bad speaker...The Cantons are more dynamic with a great mid and high end. They are not bright like ear bleed, but they are not warm.....they sorta have that sound like stats...they have a great mid and tweet presentation and they are full of emotion...they are not bright but they have sparkle. The Monitor Audio speakers are more in line with the Paradigm Signitures, they have a great bottom end, more so than Paradigm but they do share a special mid section like the Paradigm Signitures.....but the Canton Reference will out class them both.
