2010 50" Panny suggestions

i hate answers like this. the guy is CLEARLY asking for an entry level/budget set. Not a high end/flagship model .

I believe the only current panasonic 720p set available is the C model with no anti-glare filter. Try to determine your friend's viewing habits(ie daytime with lots of windows, or nighttime/basement). The samsung C450's supposedly have very good PQ, and the LG's are out as well, 50PK550 is their entry level 1080p set and people are liking it-no anti glare there either.

The TC-50PX24, but it has not been released yet.

there's also an X14 thats currently available on amazon, but pretty expensive for 720p. Not sure what the differences are between the two.

That was the 2009 equivalent of the X24. It was sold at price clubs like Costco, etc., which may also be the case with the X24 when it is released.

The X14 is a discontinued 2009 model. The X24 will be the most equitable replacement for the X1/X24 (720p) models and the MSRP will undoubtedly be less than what the X1 was a year ago.

I was just looking at my Costco "what's in the warehouse" on their site and it appears that they just got the X24:

Has anyone read anything about whether or not the X24 will be available to only Costco type places or is there a chance a 2010 X series will become available at more stores?

I saw the 50 and 42 X24 at Costco today. The 50 was priced lower than the MSRP of the Samsung 50C450. Unfortunately, the feed that they were showing was horrific so I couldn't pass any judgment on the picture quality.

The AR coating doesn't appear great either. Better than no AR, but it didn't seem as good as the S2.
