I just got an email from Cyberlink in which they tout a new feature of PowerDVD 10 - the ability to convert 2D content to 3D. This video details how you go about enabling the feature from within the software. It reminds me of the menu for doing the same thing on the Samsung C7000 3D display. The PowerDVD software supports new Full HD 3D displays, as well as 3D displays that use nVidia's glasses.
This feature, I believe, will not become available until summer, when 3D is officially supported in PowerDVD 10. This support makes not having the feature in the Panasonic plasma displays less of a drawback for those of us who use HTPCs. Personally, I don't much care for the feature, except as a novelty. It is nice to know it will be there, although we won't know how well it works for a few more months. My guess is that it will be comparable to the Samsung's conversion, especially if the software leverages the power of the video card's GPU. There's some awesome video processing capability in modern cards.
