Very weird problem with my samsung 26" lcd tv. Sound but no picture

Hey guys. I have a 26" lns2651d samsung tv that is no longer under warranty. When I turn on the tv, it comes on just fine with picture and sound. Now when I plug up my ps2 and put in a game, the tv will work for about 10 minutes and then the picture will disappear but the sound will still be going. I've noticed that when ever I move the character in the game, the picture immediately goes out but still has sound. Now if I turn the tv back on and leave the controller alone, the tv picture won't go off for about 15 minutes. It's almost like if I push a button on the ps2 controller, the picture will go out, but if I leave the ps2 controller alone, the picture stays on for a lot longer before it goes out again. Do any of you have any idea what the cause for this could be?

look for solutions

if its just 1 month past warranty Samsung will do a courtesy extension for free.

Interesting.. I got the tv from a thrift store, but how do I check the status of the warranty?

by checking the date of your reciept, and NOT telling Samsung you purchased the TV at a Thrift Store unless you enjoy shooting yourself in the foot.

Or calling Samsung giving them the serial number off the back of the unit.

When asked (if asked) when you bought the TV don't say 10 months ago say, June 7th 2009 that way you are still in warranty. Saying 10 month ago sounds vauge and suspicious give an exact date.

Some companies like Nintendo, the Warranty kicks in not from Date of Purchase (oddly) but from the date you register it with them.

I personally have had 3 units repaired or replaced by Samsung and NOT once did they ever ask for a receipt.

That's great info! thanks a lot. I think I have stopped the problem so far. I set the power save to high and the picture hasn't went out since. The only thing is the picture is so freakin dark now. Is there a possibility that it may be the power supply?

I'm not supposed to give them the serial number on the back of the tv?
