I have submitted the ticket on the Samsung website wit the description of the problem and a link to a video I have posted on youtube showing the issue.
I have received a call from samsung, I think next day. I have talked to a technician over a phone, described the problem and mentioned the youtube video I managed to record. He said that he have seen the video. He asked me if it is happening on all the inputs, etc. After few minutes he said that they will have to replace the panel, it will take up to 5 days to order a replacement and somebody will call me. After several days I did get a call and we scheduled the date for the technician to come in. Unfortunately a day before he was supposed to show up I had to unexpectedly fly to Europe and I had to call them and reschedule. I was back after a weekend and the tech showed up on Wednesday.
He did not bring a new panel, instead he played with the voltages and successfully removed the red pixels issue. We did put the TV back on the stand and he left. Before he left I took his business card. One hour after he left I started watching some PBS show about arctic. As you can imagine there was a lot of show (pure white) filmed. Well, in all the places where there supposed to be white it was purple. It was much worst than the original issue. It would not go away. It was covering the whole screen. I called the tech right away, he said that he will come back next day.
Next day he came back and try to adjust the voltage again, and it did not work. He called samsung, the support or his wife (I could not tell because he was talking in Korean
After the conversation he said that he will have to order a new panel after all.
He explained to me that it will take about 5 days to get a replacemnet and that I will be contacted agin before they come over to replace it.
Next day I did get a call from samsung again, this time they explain again that it takes up to 5 days to get a replacment. They asked me if I'm ok with the wait. I told them that since there is no other alternative I will have to wait.
About 5 days go buy and I get another call from the tech or samsung. They tell me that the replacement panel showed up and that they can come over to put it in tomorrow. I was supposed to get a call in the AM to schedule a time when the technician will show up. I got home and nobody called me and nobody showed up.
Same evening I get another call from samsung asking me how did the repair go. I said that it did not go at all since nobody called and nobody showed up.
They asked me if my screen is damaged, cracked. I said that it is not. They follow with a question if I would be interested in getting a new TV!!!
This is getting long, I know. I will get to the good part. They offered me brand new PN59D8000. Well, I took it and I'm watching it right now. It got delivered today, they took the C7000 back. It took almost a month. Some delays due to my schedule.
I have one more call left. I need to call Samsung to get them to replace my IR 3D glasses. When I was offered the replacement I asked about the glasses, they told me that it if the set comes with out them to call them back to get a replacement.
