the coolish colour is actually more North American. MArket statistics of various TV manufacturers suggests that North Americans love the cooler colour rather than warm colour.
We got the same thing going for us, I also use daylight lights for the entire house. Can't stand the "warm" colour of other lights. They're too yellow and messed up my perception of colours!
