The Squeezebox Touch is now available for purchase.

The Squeezebox Touch has the same capabilities of a Squeezebox Classic – a Wi-Fi music player capable of playing music from your iTunes or MP3 collection, Internet radio from services such as Pandora, Deezer, Rhapsody, Last.fm, or tuning into local AM/FM radio stations from around the world – but updated with a 4.3 inch (11 cm) color touch screen interface and the simple-to-use menus also used on the Squeezebox Radio.

Choose Squeezebox Touch to Be Your Home Music Server

The Squeezebox Touch is designed to be a small yet powerful home music server. Built into the software is a full-featured version of Logitech’s proven Squeezebox Server software optimized for the Squeezebox Touch. With it, you can stream your music, Internet radio, or local radio from around the world to other Squeezebox players in your home.

The Squeezebox Touch is a low power-consuming home music server, when compared to your laptop or server currently running Squeezebox Server.

But if you want to keep your music library on a PC or Mac -- don’t worry! Squeezebox Server on a Squeezebox Touch is optional. The choice is yours!

The Squeezebox Touch also has the well-regarded high-end audio quality that Squeezeboxes are known for, with all of the analog and digital outputs for your headphones, powered speakers or audio-video components.

A Squeezebox to Control Other Squeezeboxes

Place the Squeezebox Touch on your desk or a table next to your favorite chair, and you have a whole-house music controller. Control any of the Squeezebox players throughout your home with a simple touch or swipe of a finger.

You can also access music, photos via the Squeezebox Touch’s built-in USB port and SD card slots. The size of the attached library is limited by the storage attached to the USB port, or up to 32GB on SD cards; that’s a lot of songs and pics! Or, if you’re a Flickr user, set up the Squeezebox Touch to view your Flickr photostream.

I agree, nice gear.

I think it depends on what file types you're working with, how they were ripped as well as how you have them stored. My experience with Squeezebox Server, over the past couple years, is that it does a pretty good job out of the box in organizing my library just using the default settings. I rip almost everything into FLAC using dBpoweramp which has a very powerful meta tag gatherer. Through the years I have also used WMP, itunes, Amazon, and Winamp to compile my music collection and really haven't come across any hiccups in SBS' ability to organize any of the legacy files. I have everything stored on a separate HD with each artist organized in its own folder.

I would go ahead and download Squeezebox Server if you haven't done so already to review its capabilities and features so you can hit the ground running when your Touch arrives.

Very common with WAV files if I remember correctly. I'll thumb through my bookmarks when I have a free moment. I vaguely recall a pretty good solution for this.

Pandora In-Home Devices (SB products) do not currently support 192Kbps streams, although we're very interested in expanding High Quality audio options at some point in the future.

...free Pandora accounts will only play 40 hours of music for free per month, then the music will stop. Once you reach that 40-hour limit and the music stops, you will have the option to pay 99 cents for unlimited listening hours for the rest of that calendar month. You also have the choice to pay nothing and to come back on the first day of the next calendar month for another free 40 hours.

You also have the option to upgrade to a paid Pandora One subscription account, which also offers unlimited listening hours each month, plus no advertisements, higher quality audio, more skips and many other features...
